On the build sheet it shows OE plugs which to me sounds like I could be possibly running a better plug.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hey guys, I recently acquired a mint 2001 996 Turbo with AWE stage 2 kit on it. It has GT2860R turbos, AWE headers, Sachs stage 2 clutch, and a GIAC tune. I bought the car with 26k miles and am going to do another oil change at 30k miles. I plan on doing the spark plugs on the car and adding Fabspeed muffler deletes. My issue is that the previous owner does not recall what plugs are in the car and I reached out to both AWE and GIAC and have not heard anything back about the plugs. AWE answered me once about the fact that I have the final revision tune on the car but nothing back about the plugs. On the build sheet it shows OE plugs which to me sounds like I could be possibly running a better plug. The car supposedly put down 580whp and I think it is a 1.3 bar tune. Does anyone know what heat range plug I need to use on this build and what the best copper and any other tip recommendations are? Or if I should just run OE plugs still. I know with copper Ill have to change them out every 15k. I plan on doing oil every 5k so itll be every 3rd oil change. Thank you in advance.

POST 2Original post

( Pull a plug and look. Also, there's a Turbo sub ( https://rennlist.com/forums/996-turbo-forum-61/ ) forum that you should be posting in for quicker response's.

POST 3Original post

If the car is running great now...pull a plug and check what is installed. It will take 5 minutes.

On the build sheet t says OE plugs

POST 6Original post

The OE plugs are fine for the power levels you're making. You could try going one heat range colder and see how it drives.
