Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I ran Zaino on it and entered it into a local car show with my parents whom show their 2003 SVT Cobra every year and I placed top 20.

Found this black 1999 C2 Cabriolet used with 66,000 miles for in the low 30s so I had my Yukon towed to the lot, test drove it, and left with it.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

24 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Few weeks ago my 2000 Yukon developed nasty electrical problems that finally left me stranded. Found this black 1999 C2 Cabriolet used with 66,000 miles for in the low 30s so I had my Yukon towed to the lot, test drove it, and left with it. I've wanted a 911 since I was 10 years old. I figured I would get into this 996 and if I liked it end up stepping into a slightly newer TT (I dont buy brand new cars). I love it! I don't even mind having the Tiptronic. I've always been a manual transmission man. I ran Zaino on it and entered it into a local car show with my parents whom show their 2003 SVT Cobra every year and I placed top 20. Bare in mind bone stock, dirty interior by car show standards and did not polish my wheels/tires/etc. I just entered to spend time with the family! The picture showing the camera shows how glass like the paint can get! That's of course the hood, looks like a mirror. I couldn't resist posting my father's Cobra that took 2nd at the show. While not a Porsche it's beautiful in person. Rennlist is one of the best auto forums I've visited and look forward to posting!

POST 2Original post

welcome and congrats car looks beautiful. theres some wacky guys on here but everyone is nice and all ways wiliing to help.

POST 4Original post

Wacky?... WACKY???? Who you callin' WACKY???? I RESEMBLE that remark!!! Poosch417 - Welcome and congrats on getting a very nice looking P-car. It's a good thing you posted pics right away, so you could avoid getting the "pic speach" from LVDell (or from me)!

POST 5Original post

those darker cars really polish up beautifully nice job! still love my silver.........

POST 6Original post

Welcome! Wacky, did someone call Gota911's name? If you meant me you would have just said, "brrupt! brrrupppt!" Nice pics - Let me be the first to tell you that you've gotta switch to clear side markers. You got a nice finish on the black paintwork - do a search and you'll see all the discussion that goes on in the topic of maintaining the finish in black paint.

POST 7Original post

Congrats - nice car - the paint looks amazing. My black car with 45k miles doesn't polish up that nicely. Welcome - you'll enjoy this forum (and the car, of course).

POST 8Original post

Let me be the first to tell you that you DON'T HAVE TO switch to clear corners! And so you see, the madness begins... welcome to it!

POST 9Original post

Is there really wacky people here at the PPP??? PPP(Porsche Phunny Pharm)

POST 10Original post

When he says "you DON'T HAVE TO switch to clear corners!" What he's really trying to say is.. "you HAVE TO switch to clear corners!" Welcome, sweet P-car!!

POST 11Original post

... and don't let Gant convince you to drive your p-car through a flood, it's not normal (despite what he says) and requires the periscope option.

POST 12Original post

Oreganet - Which Periscope option do you mean? The UBB (U-Boat Base) as shown in the first pic, or the UBS (U-Boat Sonar) in the second pic?

POST 13Original post

Gant might correct me here, but I don't believe that his had the sonar option.

POST 15Original post

Oh, and once again - you are WRONG, Oreganet. oh so wrong. I have the Aquaman, limited edition series with the ultimate package, which, in-fact included the sonar option. Next time, get it straight!! -Soy Capitn

POST 17Original post

Didn't the Aquaman limited edition also include driver and passenger goggels?

POST 18Original post

Nah, Gant got the Luxury snorkle set - if you look in the top right of the package you can tell that it's a quality set, as it's endorsed by Nemo.

POST 19Original post

I think this is what is meant by wackos...anyway...back to the original poster. Welcome aboard, nice car...now hide your wallet.

POST 20Original post

Well, I think that a demo was needed to point out those of us who like to play.... otherwise there was no way that he would have known that Gant is a little strange. Gota911.... here's a new submarine! http://www.cnn.com/2006/TECH/10/17/a....ap/index.html

POST 21Original post

I wonder if it comes in silver, which is 'Gant's preferred color.

POST 22 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

nothing wrong with playin' a little. So...do I or don't I get clear side marker lights?

POST 23Original post

It's personal preference. Most colors look better with clear markers, but I'll admit that black does look nice with the orange ones.

POST 24Original post

Nice move from an SUV to a 911; save the planet! Welcome, K
