Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Leading evidence: 'Repair (surprises)' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Repair (surprises)' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hello 996 drivers,
After 2 years in a Boxster and 1 year in a 2001 Boxster S, I'm planning to buy a 996 Cab. I think it will be a C2. I testdrove several C2's and 1 C4, and came to the conclusion that the carrera of choice must have e-gas. The cars equipped with e-gas seem to react more rapidly on the gaspedal, and therefore feel simply more alive. Any thoughts on this? Am I fooling myself?
My favourite combo is Articsilver/black int. What do you guys feel about Artic with Metropol blue?
Greetings from the Netherlands,
Maximus (33)
You will miss the Boxter's!! Believe that.
I did one year in a Boxster and 1 year in a Boxster S. I think lb for lb, the Boxster S may be the best P. But I love my C4S.
'You will miss the Boxter's!! Believe that."
haha, miss her every day! (Sold the Boxster S end of August) Hope a 996 Cab will make those feelings disapear!
Grtz. Maximus
And thankx for the warm welcome btw! Yesterday on my search to find more info on the e-gas subject I came across the infamous mail from the Bob guy with his XXX time blown engines... Argh! hahaha
Both of my former Boxsters I bought from an OPC with Porsche Garantee. Never had a problem. This time I plan to buy a used 996 without the garantee because there is simply no 996 for sale at an OPC with reasanable recorded milage or the right color combo. In Holland you can't buy an aftermarket garantee. So the money I save (4 - 5 k.) by buying form a private party I reserve for future repair (surprises)
Grtz.

Welcome to Rennlist. In which part of Holland are you located? I picked up my former Merc SLK 320 from the factory in Stuttgart and drove it all over Western Europe (I put over five thousand miles on it before I shipped it to the US). I remember driving from Brussels to Amsterdam. It was a nice short drive... until I got to the city! I ended up parking the car at the hotel garage for 3 days and only took it out when I left for Hamburg.
E-gas feels more responsive because it's giving you full throttle at less than full pedal movement, hence the feeling of increased responsiveness, when in reality the opposite is true.
Yep, I read about this in my search for e-gas in this forum.
But to me it feels more responsive so... I think I 'll be more happy with e-gas in the end.
Btw, I live in Zwolle
