Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have done some research. I just have not done the work yet. I really like to make sure I know what I am doing before I do it. I have read that drains get clogged. The cabin filter being one spot. Its the first place I will check. Does anyone have any other suggestions on where to look. Also what is the best way to unplug them. I break things so I need to proceed with caution.

POST 2Original post

There are some good diagrams on this here, do a search. I believe the drains are accessed from the wheel wells. You need to pull back the covers to get to them.

POST 3Original post

Google will lead you to all you need, with pictures and diagrams. I like to use weed wacker line.

POST 5Original post

Unless you have a real mess the rear drains can be accessed by removing the rear speakers. My “pans” were completely full of dirt - had to break it up with a small screwdriver and vacuum it out. Then I used the weed wacker string to clean out the drain pipes. Tested by having wife pour water on the car in various places and making sure it runs out of the outlets in next to the rear tires. The rear drain system on the cabrio is amazingly complex in a Rube Goldberg kind of way - you will understand it when you see the water flow into the pan from above and then out the funnel. Good luck! Daryll
