Ive been told this is due to pressure not being able to be released in the gas expansion tank, so it blows out the spout.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Everyone, When i fill up my gas tank, especially the closer it is to empty, i always get gas coming back out. Ive been told this is due to pressure not being able to be released in the gas expansion tank, so it blows out the spout. Is this true? Whats clogged? How do i fix it?

Slow the flow as you get close to full...Works for me.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

The blowout actually occurs at start of filling up not end

POST 6Original post

Many of the cars with modern smog stuff have a vent line that goes from the top of the tank to the filler, if your in an area without vapour collecting nozzles it may not be venting correctly during fill. Sometimes mine needs the nozzle slightly pulled out to make it happy. (03 Cab C4 )
