Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Mike gave me the original exhaust cans from his car which were replaced with the SS GHL mufflers.
Leading evidence: 'Replace mike gave me the original exhaust cans' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'most solid rwd cars' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Check weather and got caught' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

getting really bored with my spd yellow, 6 spd so i need to spruce her up with a spoiler/wing and better exhaust, plus brake dust is ticking me off
....she is totally stock now....cept for turbo OEM rims that have been chromed....35k miles...me...i am the second owner.....put about 15k on it (daily driver 'cept when i am hauling the 3 kids or 4 four wheelers w the SRT-10 yellow fever quad cab)
if i cant get reasonably prices on a spoiler and exhaust .....and fall in love w her again......out the door she goes....
ok....so please help me...what is the throaty, best exhaust out there for a reasonable price...
where do i shop for spoilers/wings without paying an arm and a leg that will fit an '02 narrow body c4 cab (my existing deck lid does that lifting thing at 75 mph, but I don't get to enjoy it as you can't see the damn thing up when driving
last question....which ceramic (other) brake pads do we use to stop the brake dust????
thanks in advance for you help.....

Exhaust:
I would do the simple bypass exhaust mod to your existing cans. Tim Wasmer brought this mod to my attention earlier this year. Mike (rennlist member) gave me his old set of cans to modify for my fathers C2 Cab. When Tim did this mod to his last C2 and it sounded really good! Just like the PSE. You can do this mod for under $100. I had it done for $80 on saturday at a local muffler shop. It took the guy all of 30 minutes to do the work. Since I am doing the swap to my fathers car on Friday I will try and get some video/sound clips for you.

Mike gave me the original exhaust cans from his car which were replaced with the SS GHL mufflers. I took them down to the exhaust shop and I showed the guy... "I want you cut off this round cap and bend a 2.25" pipe from here to there" he said $80 and I said OK. 30 minutes later this is what I got X2. Removing the exhaust is VERY simple and takes about an hour to pull them off the car 3 nuts on each hanger and 2 clamps. For another $100-$150 I would imagine an independent exhaust shop would do the dismount and remount for you. It is quite simple. It sounds really good too!
Hmmm....I guess I am a boring guy...My C4 cab is LOADS of fun....and extremely responsive if setup right. Put some 19's on it, 11's on the rear, 8's on the front, PSS9s, nice exhaust and maybe a short shift kit.....I guarantee my C4 Cab is just as responsive as 99% of the C2 coupes out there...and for me if I need any more responsive, I'll get a shifter cart....A stock C4 cab is floaty and understeers...
For the original poster my boring C4 Cab turned into this with a few mods....
well it sure looks nice but with all the extra weight and rotational mass of the 19" rims and tires and it being heavier *and* a C4... it is a night a day drive compared to a stock c2.... especially in a strait line...
sharp looking car! love that MKII body kit!
Nothing personal but maybe you're bored with life in general.
I'm absolutely thrilled with my '99 Cab, and like it more every time I drive it. I'm going on my 4th year as its second owner. I don't think it would get any better with a brand new 997.
My Porsches are enjoyable for sure but are a ways down the list of things that give me personal satisfaction in life.
Actually my 19's are lighter than my stock 18's, so its LESS weight than say turbo twists 18. I drove my car back to back with a c2 coupe and I actually liked it better than the c2...so I bought the C4....its all personal taste.
Newport996, very nice looking car! Looks great in your pics, your avatar makes it look green rather than black on my monitor. I like the monochromatic look of all black, my car has it too being Artic Silver with grey top, grey leather interior, silver wheels, seat backs and console.
I was just like you a couple of months ago. The stock setup is quite boring and not fun to drive at all. In the past month or so, i've added coilovers to increase the handling and to lower the ride height! An exhaust from vivd racing for around 700.00, a K&N air filter kit for 300.00 and a schnell ssk for 160.00. Now the car is an absolute blast to drive. I drive it every chance i can (except to work).
I would highly recommend you looking into getting a new exhaust and the k&n filter. These two mods made great mprovement in the performance of the 911. I have not gotten a CEL since installing the K&N. has about 1000+ miles on it already. The car really picks up and moves!

I never driven a C4 but to be honest, the C2 is already a very stable car...even in stock C2s that are thrown WOT into a turn, they hook like they're on rails and PSM still hasn't even kicked in yet. That was a 2000 w/50K miles and almost balding rear tires. I'm sure the AWD would be great in the snow but other than that, the C2 is more than enough. Probably the most solid RWD cars that I've ever driven in the rain as well (forgot to check weather and got caught twice
)
But yeah, like these other guys have suggested, get a intake, exhaust, and short throw. It'll be a bit more fun to drive.
