if it has the smallest of cracks in the canister, the car will set a code for a leak in the evap system, setting a check engine light.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

now i just got to get it fixed and get back to driving it like its soppused to be driven
i have bad news my friends my porsche was hit
its not that bad but its not little either. my whole right fender is messed up. bend in the door at the very edge where the door meets the fender. and the back right quarter panel is pretty dent in too. god i almost cried when it happened cause i was in one of thoughs enjoying the fact that i drive a porsche moments. so now i need a cheap (by cheap i mean one that won't jack up the prices just cause its a porsche) respected body shop in the chicago land area. any help is welcome and thanks in advance. if i can ill post pics later.
im so sad about the whole thing. it all happened so fast. even though its not that much damage and it should get fixed quickly i just can't help but not want to do anything but just sit around and be sad. it happened on tuesday and these last to days have been a really slow blur for me if that makes any sense. anyway if anyone can help me i greatly appricate it and again thanks in advance.
I am not in the Chicago area so I can't help you with a body shop reference, but wanted to let you know that I'm sorry sorry to hear about the damage to your car.
thanks man it totally sucks..... i was haveing such a good day and then hit wtf just happened. the thing that sucks the most is it was a hit and run so i have to pay for damages. i noticed that la salvege yard or what ever there called have cheap fender replacments. anyone know if there a legit company or should i stay away
I had good luck with Accurate Auto Body in Naperville, IL with my old Audi.
Their body work was very good and their paint match (metalic paint) was flawless.
The number I have for them is [phone removed]
Good Luck!!
Why go cheap? Don't you have insurance? I'd look for the BEST bodyshop and not necessarilly the CHEAPEST bodyshop. It sounds like pretty much one side of the car has to be repainted so might as well respray the whole car to match -- you want a top notch body shop for this job.
Also, if you do a search for "LA Porsche Dismantlers" on this forum you will find several horror stories (and a couple of positive ones) so be careful when dealing with them.
It sucks about your accident but just pay the deductible on your insurance and get the best bodyshop you can find. This is one repair you don't want to skimp on.
since it was hit on the right side front, make sure the bodyshop checks to see if the carbon canister was cracked or damaged. if it has the smallest of cracks in the canister, the car will set a code for a leak in the evap system, setting a check engine light.
Sorry to hear your accident. I had one about 2 months ago. It was slow speed impact, about 25-30mph. Front end damage. Long story short. The final bill is $21,500.00. Things I learned were follows:
Good body shop always busy means long wait. Multi- luxury cars are waiting in line such as MBZ, MBW, Porsche...etc. Clean shop.
Never go to body shop refer by your insurance co.
Be perpare long wait. For example, if they said it can delievery in 1 month, do NOT count on it. Most likely is 2 to 3 months wait.
Good luck.
damn 21 grand my cars not even worth that much (almost at 105k miles
) im going to a place were a friend works. i got an estimate from some random places and they said 2,500 to fix so its not that bad. i have to replace the right front fender and the rest can be dinged out. the paint on these cars are amazing there isn't even one scratch its all scuff marks from the other cars plastic bumber. kind of off topic but if any of you rember i was thinking of selling it a while back but not being able to drive it (not cause its broken just too depressed i guess) for the last couple days has made me miss this car and i also found a new love for porsches. i was never really a fan of them till i bought mine and it is true what some people say... ones you drive one for a while you just can't help but love it. its just something completely special that i can't put my finger on. sorry for being all "spirtual" or what ever you call but i just help it.... im in love with Porsche
now i just got to get it fixed and get back to driving it like its soppused to be driven
