Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.

I would recommend that you start with a test drive to see if the 996 is really the car for you.
Leading evidence: 'Test drive' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Test drive' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I am in the process of selling my 2001 M5. I have never really been into Porches lets say this is my first time really looking into getting one. I was looking at one on Ebay and I was wondering what you guys think. I will be in the market price from $30k - $38k. What should I stay away from and what should I jump on? Is there any insiders secrest on buying one of these cars? Hows this one?

The car you linked to in your first post is a 2000 Carrera (996).
These are great cars and very different than your M5. As far as straight line performance goes they will be very similar (0-60 in under 5, low 13's in the qtr) however the handling and braking in the 996 is far superior.
Reliablilty wise, the 996 is fairly bullitproof but a small percentage of cars do have engine issues (mostly oil leaks). Before you purchase you will want to have a pre-purchase inspection performed by a dealership or qualified Porsche mechanic. In particular they should look for oil leaks around the rear main seal.
Porsche did upgrade the 996 in 2002 (engine/chassis/body/etc.) however in your price range you probably will not be able to find one of the Mk II's. This is no problem as the Mk I's (1999 to 2001) are great cars.
I would recommend that you start with a test drive to see if the 996 is really the car for you.
Good luck.
Ya I really don't care for the look of the car in stock trim. I love the car with the Areo kit and rims. It seems to make it more appealing to me.
I love the comment about the reliability because let me tell you the M5 has more issues than an adopted drug addicted stripper. I spend everything I got on that car and its getting old. I am trying to get away from that and was hoping this car was trouble free.
