I bought a replacement top for my '99 996. Used, still mounted on the frame and all. Has anyone else done this? It's to be delivered today. Wondered if anyone can comment on the process. Thanks!

Does the replacement have a plastic or glass rear window? Just curious because I've considered doing the same to my 99' cab.

Plastic. I found (thanks to help on here) that you can't swap plastic for glass. Frame and storage area for when the top is fold, are different sizes. ...Just delivered to my loading dock at work.

Cost me $575. shipped. Was quoted at least $2300 for new aftermarket. Top looks great. We'll see how the install goes. Haven't been able to find anything on anyone replacing a top this way!!! Little worried about everything syncing up.

Local shop quote me $475 for the install. I picked up a Hartz cloth AM top for $400.
