Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

11 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

My electronic oil meter is telling me I have anywhere from half to 1/3 oil. I looked at the dip-stick and I can't tell whats medium, high or low. I DO NOT have a manual. 1. Can anyone tell me what the best oil is for getting ready to go into mid-west winter? 2. Also, how do I know when I have added enough? The dipstick does not have full on it. Thanks!

POST 2Original post

After you run the car to operating temp, shut the car off...wait around 10 min, then take a look at the dipstick. Anything in the middle to upper notch would be fine.

POST 3Original post

I'm having a problem with my car, I just noticed my electronic oil indicator reads 0 oil and my dipstick reads full. I'm doing a search now

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I'v decided, im just gonna get an oil change.

POST 5Original post

You'll probably feel better afterward if you just drove down the highway with your windows open and threw $200 right out the window.

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Oh Dell.... First off, I don't know what kind of oil is in the car, and more importantly, Im not sure when the last oil change was. Besides, the shop I get the oil changed at, is around $100.

POST 7Original post

That's a bargain if it includes the oil and filter. 10 quarts of Mobil 1 0-40 runs around $70 + 13 or so for the filter.

POST 8Original post

$100 and a Porsche Filter and 9-10 quarts of Mobil1? If that's the case, get that puppy changed!

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

That's what it was for my Boxster S.

POST 10 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Whatever it costs, i believe they charge for 1/2 hour labor, which is like $75 per hour.

POST 11Original post

When you say you don't have a manual do you mean you have a tiptronic When you say you don't have a manual do you mean you have a tiptornic? Seriously, get manual and read it a couple of times. It really does help.
