I have one code P0420 which indicates a possible bad cat, but I am running 2 bottles of Techron through it to see if it goes off before checking into a new cat.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

17 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

After having 6 928s, I finally picked up this 2002 996. Love it so far. I still have 2 928s, but may be selling them.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Yes I love it so far. Totally different from the 928. I had to replace an oxygen sensor that was chewed into by a rodent. It has a second engine in it as the previous owner hit something and punctured the oil pan. All work has been done by a Porsche dealer. I have one code P0420 which indicates a possible bad cat, but I am running 2 bottles of Techron through it to see if it goes off before checking into a new cat.

POST 4Original post

Another convert. the 928 is a fine touring machine. Very nice, but the 996 is just another step up the ladder. You got in at a good time, I think they are going to level off or maybe start back up soon. The air cooled market is pricing a fair number of people out. They hopefully will take a look at the newer gen, and drive one. Then, it's all over but the check writing.

POST 5Original post

Congrats! Nice to have another happy 996 owner. Show us some pics of your Porsche collection.

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Here is what I have right now. 2002 Targa, 1987 928s4, 1984 Euro 928s

POST 11Original post

Beautiful! But then, I'm partial to the 996 in Arctic Silver on black Congrats! These are awesome cars.

POST 12Original post

Glad to see another MS owner on here! Coffee & Cars at the Jackson Porsche Dealership Saturday Aug 20th 9am-11am.

POST 13Original post

That is a nice set of P-Cars....enjoy your 996!

POST 14Original post

Great-looking car, congrats!!! [Try as I might, I can't figure out what your screen name means.]

POST 16Original post

Welcome! Trust me, there's room enough in your garage for both a 996 and an '87 928S4.

POST 17 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks guys! I love all the P-cars, but there is just something special about this 996. Also, I am trying to change my username, but I can't find a way to do it.
