Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Just looking for some feed back on Clutch/ clutch kit recommendations (Stick with OE Porsche or if someone has had great success with an aftermarket brand). My clutch is slowly been getting worse and worse- slipping a little and higher and higher pedal engagement. My 1999 996 Carrera is not used on the track, just "spirited driving" to and from work at times or for fun on the weekend. Looking for something more budget friendly. Thanks for the input!

POST 2Original post

Sachs makes the clutch kit and Luk makes the flywheel. They are a lot less expensive if you buy them in the Sachs or Luk boxes, rather than a Porsche box. Same exact product.

POST 3Original post

Sachs Spend the money for the sprung clutch disc. It is well worth it. I have 23,000 miles on mine and engagement is excellent.

POST 5Original post

Buy the LUK 20-015 clutch it. It comes with the pinion bearing, the throw out bearing, the clutch disc and the pressure plate. Bought one on Amazon a week or so ago for $376 plus tax delivered. All the parts were Sachs inside the box. If you buy the kit labeled Sachs it is $50+ more. And if you buy it with the Porsche label in the box, well let’s just say, bend over. if you need a new DMF Flywheel expect to pay another $500+., without the Porsche tax.
