We fixed a couple minor things on it and he decided that he didn't want a manual car, so he got a 3 series, steptronic BMW.

Once you added radiators to cool, radical technology and all the creature comforts it changed the bloodline forever.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Rennlisters,
Less rally the troups, boys!
As a lot of you may know Global Motorcars knowingly ripped me off and sold me an undisclosed, flood-damaged car last July, 2006. I was able to procure the records from a Porsche dealership in Houston to prove it.
Subsequently, Global gave me my money back, paid for my and my friends plane-ticket and gas-money when we went to Houston from St Lou. They also payed for shipping back. They had it listed for $55k on their website, $5k MORE than they sold it to me. Not only that but they we're advertising it as a car that was PERFECT with NO problems!!
I thought they were totally up-and-up until the relisted the car on Ebay and their website as soon as they got it back.
This left me and other Rennlisters in dis-belief. So, we decided that we would watch/track it and when they sold it, to another poor, unsuspecting victim we would take action.
Well my friends, I've been watching their website every week for a year and it's finally gone. WE must find a way to get them!!
Car:
2002 Black on Blake C4S with many options. Around 35k miles.
VIN: WP0AA29932S424090- Correction:
WP0AA29932S624090
Your friend,
Gant
(Arr0gant)
Gant how do you know the UBoat was sold? They just delisted it off their website, right? Most likely it will pass through a string of dealers / auctions before coming into the hands of a regular consumer. In any case, is the dealership doing anything illegal by reselling it (I assume they will have an "as-is" sticker in some corner) ?
WRONG, in I think all states, Texas specifically it is fraud to knowingly sell a flood damaged, totalled car and misrepresent it as "ok".
See Texas DPTA (Deceptive Practice Trade Act)
http://library.findlaw.com/2000/Mar/1/130722.html
Anyway, they are a private dealer. They most-likey sold the car to a private party. If they sold it to another dealer, I have the proof that THEY knew it was Flood-damaged. The car is basically worthless, and they know it.
If anyone has a Carfax account, please run the VIN so we can see if it's been titled.
That is why we need to find out if they sold it and ripped someone off. If we did (find the person), we NOW KNOW they fraudulently did it. WE HAVE PROOF!!! When they sold it to me, we did NOT have proof that they did it knowingly. NOW WE DO!
We ALSO need to contact the person that has the flood-damaged car, and payed fair-market-value for it. They need to know!
@!#$%& Why does everyone have to make this so difficult????
Is there a way to just have the car VIN marked as flood damaged i.e. on Carfax? Then it's a matter of public record. Might be easier than trying to follow the dealer's every move.
I'm with gant on this one... someone F'ed him over and they are now willingly trying to take somone up the wrong hole again... if we can somehow stop that, I'm in.
Unfortunately I don't have a carfax though
Don't let it go. Go after them. I wish I had a way to help. I was ripped off by a used car dealer when I was just getting out of college and really couldn't afford it. I frickin hate people that think it's ok to rip others off!
Anybody can sue anybody. They are going to have enough of you real quick. If the risk is worth it for you then go after them and find their customer. But remember the old saying, buyer beware. That is the new customers job as it was yours. What you are contemplating is noble....but just be prepared for the fall out. I would like to see you bury these guys but I don't want to see them bury you.
I'm not against Gant ??!! All we know is that they pulled it off their website. If they did something illegal (thereafter) you SHOULD go after them. At least call the BBB if you've not done so already.
Thats funny I always thought of you as the little bitch.
They made you whole and now your trying to screw them and you have ZERO proof that they sold the car under false pretenses...
Even if they did why do you have such a hard on for these guys.
I think you might need help... Stalking a car for a year is just weird
Oh man. Don't you get it? They took the car back AND RELISTED IT AS A PERFECT CAR, ASKING FOR $5K MORE, to recoup their losses! The car IS GONE NOW!!! I am JUST ****ING TRYING TO DO THE MORAL THING HERE, AND FIND OUT IF THEY ARE RIPPING SOMEONE ELSE OFF!! WHY AM I EXPLAINING MYSELF TO YOU??? ARE YOU AN IDIOT??
Moral?? Do you really believe that
You're just pissed that they tried to screw you.
You can't even prove that the car was sold and you are making such a big deal out of it. Rallying the troops over something that could be nothing AND something that you have already been compensated for. On top of that, after the compensation of it and your obvious deep concern for the well being of other innocent victims, you are too cheap to pay for a $15 membership to Carfax??? You may think I'm an idiot, you are a cheap ****. Why don't you sell your old *** ugly cherokee and buy a membership to carfax for all those innocent car buyers out there that you are so worried about protecting.
Guys, disagree and debate this all you want. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. Agree to disagree, if necessary, but there is nothing gained from the PERSONAL attacks and NAME CALLING! Let's keep it civil. We are better than that!
Gant - I understand your desire to make sure they do not/have not sold the car to some unsuspecting buyer. But it has been listed for a year and you didn't notify Greg Abbott the Attorney General of Texas? (
http://www.oag.state.tx.us/
). That would have been the prudent step to take and let the "authorities" handle the situation.
A couple of guys were recommending that you be very careful on how you handle this, primarily because of the fact that we have become a litigious society. That is sound advice, IMO. Some of the other guys commented that just because the car was removed from their web site, does not mean it has been sold. They COULD have sold it to a private buyer... they COULD have sold it to another dealer... they COULD have shipped it off to auction... then COULD have done (whatever) with the car. You are assuming they sold it. That may be the most logical assumption, but it IS still an assumption.
I didnt interpret most of the posts as being a backlash towards Gant. I read them as recommendations to slow down, proceed with caution, and collect the real facts. Dont act on assumptions. I am discounting the last couple of posts because, I believe, they were written when tempers were high. Lets move beyond those posts.
Gant should you want to pursue this matter, my recommendation is to:
1) find out EXACTLY what happened to the car,
2) if it has been sold (private buyer or dealership), contact
- a) the Attorney General of Texas and
- b) the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles.
Share with them any information you have that the car is a flood-damaged vehicle. Let them handle it from there. It gets you away from the fray and gets the legal authorities involved. Just my 2.
It's pretty simple, they knew the car was flood-damaged. When they got it back from me, they still listed it as a perfect car, withholding knowledge. A Rennlister even called them and said he wanted to buy it, they represented it as a perfect car, STILL. I was hoping they would do the right thing and NOT rip someone off. So, now I KNEW that they would sell it and LIE!!! So I waited and watched. In a completely altruistic manner and held my word to many Rennlisters that I told I would do so. It seems either they have forgotten, don't care anymore, or are now gone....
Anyhow, I have the proof, in writing that it is was a major flood-damaged car. SO, it doesn't matter what they did with they car. When I find the new owner, it WILL be traced BACK TO GLOBAL as the company that traded it, auctioned it, sold it or whatever AND DID NOT DISCLOSE. Then, the new owner, who I GUARANTEE you will think the car was perfect will have all the proof they want to do whatever they want. If they need a witness with proof, I am here.
As far as calling the Atty. Gen., the Texas lawyer I consulted informed me that they would ONLY take the case once they have proof, BEYOND a reasonable doubt that Global did so knowingly and intentionally.
FYI, I CALLED NO ONE ANY NAMES directly. Me asking someone if they are an idiot IS NOT calling them an idiot. Oh and BTW, my cherokee is in FLAWLESS condition with 45k miles!!!
Edit: and ONE MORE THING. I did not call any one person a bitch. However I do apologize for saying people on this board are bitches!! (Even though i think some of you are!!)
I can understand your rage at this company for what they did. I was in the car business for 1 1/2 years and got out because this kind of thing was normal behavior to the dealers I worked for. I commend you for trying to do the right thing. If someone rapes your sister, you don't knowingly let the guy rape your neighbors sister too.
I don't know why people wanna knock me down on this one. I'm just trying to do make sure someone else doesn't go through what I had to, not when I can help stop it.
I appreciate the support!
Edit: Furthermore, I totally appreciate everyone else who has encouraged and supported. Thanks fellas!!!
Gant-I support you but Tim did give some good advice.
Land Jet-Good point. We need to take better care of each other instead of turning a blind eye and turning the Ipod back on.
I'm with you too Gant. I think it's the right thing to do. Imagine a new member comes on here, and exclaims excitedly, "Hey, I just got this cool perfect C4S...." We shouldn't knowingly let them get away doing the same **** to some other innocent Porsche enthusiast!
I was ripped off some years ago too, promises and all, in the end they were all lies.
Small time private dealer, tried to take the guy to court, the sheriff couldn't serve him coz' he freaking moved!!!
(He was 4 1/2 hrs drive away from me, which made things difficult)
let's stop the bitch'ing and start collecting some facts and see what we can find out on the car... I sure would appreciate it if I got f'ed without knowing it and someone would bring it to my attention (low hanging fruit here for some jokes!).
So, anybody has a carfax account?
http://www.carfax.com/datacorrection...nsumerdcf.cfdo
What you should have done, once the dealer gave back your money, was contact the DMV in Texas and report that the car was a flood car being sold under a clean title, and give them copies of your documentation. At that point, they could have investigated and flagged the title on the car, which ultimately would come back on the Carfax. A call to the dealer licensing board would've been a smart move, too, if you were really concerned about them trying to stick someone else with the car, especially when someone called about it and the info wasn't disclosed.
I don't know that you can really do anything about it after the fact, but the link I just gave you allows you to send the info to Carfax, which they might or might not use. And it won't even cost you the $15.
As of today (7/10) Carfax shows the last titling operation to be in Colorado, 12/07/2006. Does Gant live in CO? No, MO. Hmmmm.
On the Carfax report, it shows two customer comments on the car (gee, I wonder who did that? ;-) ) that say it is a flood car. But you've got to look carefully to see the link on the main page.
Personally, I would be really, really careful about any comments made on a public forum like this. No one needs a lawsuit.
Michael
One other thing: It is a known fact that Carfax cannot and does not catch every problem with a car. See this report on a lawsuit settlement:
http://tinyurl.com/2t6qtu
Note please that Texas is one of the states singled-out for being a problem. I'm not saying that you shouldn't buy a car titled in Texas, I'm just saying that in the past, they (the state) has not reported all of car history to Carfax.
And for some reason, there are a lot of exotic/highline cars for sale in Texas on eBay.
Michael
MJ, thanks SO much for checking that out. Remember, I NEVER titled the car. So, lets keep this thread alive and keep our eye on it.
You guys are great!
Not that it matters, but I think the reason Texas has been considered a problem is that Texas has a larger amount of flooded cars than most other areas. The percentage of REPORTED flooded cars to the total number of flooded cars is probably about the same as any other state.
Good luck Gant. I hate hearing of people getting screwed and, although it might have been handled differently per other's suggestions, it wasn't and that's history. I applaud you for trying to keep anyone else from being screwed, whether it is trying to just be noble or just trying to get revenge.
I had an old '91 Nissan that got wrecked several years ago. When I sold it a year later there was nothing on the carfax (although it was visually obvious to the buyer that it had been hit).
File a report of your experience with the Texas Dept of Motor Vehicles so they can investigate. If these guys have done this before, or continue in the aberrant ways, the TDMV can pull their license. You may also consider contacting the DA of that county. The Consumer Fraud section deals with these types of issues.
I'd love to see these guys go down for what they did.
It's hard to sit by and watch them sell a flooded car without disclosure. What happened to Gant could have happened to any of us.
hah! that's great! How many miles, owners does it have now? Where did you get it from? How much did you pay? Did they disclose that it was a salvaged flood car?
Came from la Quinta, CA. Not sure on how many owners.. Car has 61k
Does not have a salvage title but can you send me all the info you have on it?
I got it from executive image in colton, ca
Ya. It had a clean carfax and title when I bought it from Global Motorcars in Houston. They got it from a nearby Porsche dealership. I called the dealership after receiving the car and asked to get all records on it
The guy I talked to at the dealership was new and didn't know he wasn't supposed to give them to anyone; nonetheless, he faxed them over. After seeing all the **** I called back and spoke with the dealership manager who apologized and told me I wasn't supposed to have gottem them. I responded, seriously...?
Anyhow, I'm pretty sure all those documents are somewhere here in my file cabinet. I'll look for em
Wow! I always wondered what happened to this car. Amazing that it showed up again and dragged Gant with it. Good to see them both!
What are you driving now Gant?
Nice! I didn't realize you were back in the Porsche family. Last car I remember you buying was the Cadillac.
I still have my 996, it has just hit 76K and shines like new. In addition I followed your lead and added an E90 M3 to the stable.
I MISS the E90!! That car had me feeling so dialed in. It satisfied me in a way no car has ever has. I want another!! You still hangin' on the 996 forum?
Not to stray off topic but e90 M3's are actually now somewhat affordable. I was surprised when one of my friends bought a used one recently and can be argued that it will be the last of the "true" BMW heritage in regards to the NA motor configuration.
I'm ok with my S14.
It is an awesome car and I remember how much you loved yours, espcially your comments relative to your 911 turbo. The M3 is very very planted on the road and has excellent responsiveness. In terms of handling and peace of mind, the E90 is a very complete package and I love it. I've driven all of the late model Ms and the E90 M3 is still the best - that says a lot when you're comparing the 1M, M3, M5 (last 2 generations) and the M6 on the track. The E90 M3 is a hard car to beat in terms of price and performance.
I don't hang out here as much as I used to, but do check in once or twice a week to see what's new. To be honest, in terms of maintenance knowledge I've learned a lot of it by now, so don't need so much of that from here and a lot of the old timers have moved on, so there's less incentive to be here. You can only stomach the endless obsession with IMS, RMS, <insert rant of the day here>, etc before it gets tedious.
Anyone that says, "X is the last true..." undermines their credibility. Progress is endless and each generation is always an improvement on the last. I'm sure that I'll love the next M3 and M4 when I drive them, as I've never met an M that I haven't had fun driving. The M badge means something and they wouldn't let it out of the factory if it didn't live up to the heritage. Having said that, the V8 of the M9X is an amazing engine for sound and performance and it does roar like no other BMW.
No undermining here. I simply stated a fact that the e90 m3 will be the last NA motor they will put out on an M series which has been a true heritage of past M's.
Forward is progress although I wish they did it in a more raw fashion and less bloat. But regardless, that's what I have my e30 M3 for.
Edit: There's a healthy discussion going on here about the newer BMW's and how they may have strayed from their original nature:
http://oppositelock.jalopnik.com/let...6/@matepetrany
I don't expect the newer BMW people to understand that's never had an older bmw older than the e36/e39's.
I do agree that it's sad that they are moving away from normally aspirated engines and an end of a very good era. I've never been a fan of turbo chargers.
I also agree that BMW (and to be honest most car manufacturers) need to put their cars on a diet. They're fat and bloated and it's not pretty. It's wasteful and saps performance. It was true of the E9X series for BMW and is true of the 991 series for Porsche. They need to start slashing weight because I find it unattractive to see flab on a supermodel. You are absolutely correct about the E30 to E36 period - now if only they could have added performance without adding flab, now that would have been a great car!
It's like comparing a 993 to anything after. They just lost much of what ALL Porsches shared from 993 and ALL versions before. They shared so much and were very similar in every way. Once you added radiators to cool, radical technology and all the creature comforts it changed the bloodline forever.
In some ways newer is a million times better, but they changed radically, lost their roots and will NEVER look, feel or be the same... which in a similar way to the newer M's is inevitable...
In regards to the 2002turbo street car, no.
In regards to the M12 based F1 car, yes.
You can't argue extracting close to 1400 hp from a 1.5L 4 banger in qualifying trim back in the 80's isn't a great feat of engineering.
Now if BMW could extract even close to half that on a street vehicle and give it a broader and more smoother power curve on a 4 banger and still able to get 40-50mpg, I'm there and case closed.
In regards to bloat though, I do believe BMW is leading the charge on getting serious in making their cars lighter by purchasing majority share in the SGL Carbon Fiber manufacturing company. It will benefit them greatly having tighter control in manufacturing/r&d process among other factors.
I know it's crazy. I'm glad it's shifting more from cult status to classic status in a way. Been keeping the miles off her as maybe one day that could be one of my kid's college fund.
That's an awesome build^^^^
Now lets see how much hp can joshtownsend can squeeze out of a 1.5L in his Texas garage and do the math on HP per liter. LOL
LOL
I have always liked the finer tuned engines over just raw horsepower. The e30 m3 squeezed out almost 200hp from a 2.3L four banger IN 1988.....where most of the sports cars in its class in around that time had almost half the HP. Unless it was a big V8 twice the size of that engine.
There is a place in the world for both. In reality the only thing that matters is getting from A to B as quickly as possible. The mechanism really doesn't matter.
The mechanism can be appreciated, but only the end result really matters. Doesn't matter if it's a turbo 4, flat 6, V8, V10, V12, or even if hybrid engine - all the same, they're just different mechanisms of producing power to a set of wheels. As long as they do it efficiently and fast it's irrelevant how they do it.
U-Boat UPDATE:
It's still running strong with very minor issues.. stock IMSB and the clutch/RMS was replaced at 50k by Porsche of Colorado.
I'm up to 85,000 miles with over 10 track days including Laguna Seca in 2014.
Video of running at Fontana in 2015.
You Tube
When we had the transmission out to replace the AOS the bearing looked fine.
I've been changing the oil every 5k miles and plan on updating the IMSB once I'm due for a clutch again.
U-Boat Timeline Update:
Once Arr0gant retuned the car it then traveled from Texas to Colorado with 35k miles.
That owner drove it up to 58k miles... where it was then sold and ended up California in 2013.
March 2013 someone purchased it from Porsche of Rancho Mirage with 59,456 miles.
September 2013 I purchased it with 61,000 miles from Executive Image Auto Group in Colton, CA.
What a thread. I often wonder of what's become of some of the cars I onced owned. I've put a lot of time and sweat equity into so many... would be interested to know what of that was maintained or forgotten about. Crazy to hear that this one had such a rough early life and is/has been a track performer. Crazier still to hear that Porsche sold this car a few times over, but i guess it's just a lack of due diligence given it has a clean title. Thanks for the update -- I'm about 80mi away from 100k on my new to me C4s, wonder what stories could be told about it, lol.
I wish they were all track miles... I put about 8 Time Attack Days on her from 2013-2015 including Laguna Seca where I held the POC class track record until 2016.
She's been my daily driver the last 2 years and I haven't been tracking her now that I run in BSR.
Roger that, thanks. I saw your post where you said the car would be your track car, and you only posted track day pics and footage. 40,000 track miles would really be something! Cheers on keeping the car on the road. I'm glad she's been good to you.
Wow just read through this thread for the first time. Looks like the OP missed out on a great car!
Just goes to show that you can't control everything. You can get a perfectly clean car with great history and it can blow up the next week. Or get a car with history of water damage and runs perfect. It's a fickle bitch!
The problem here wasn't that the car was a flood car. The problem was that Global misrepresented the car when they sold it to Gant. They sold it as a pristine car (remember, it was only a couple of years old when this happened and was not an inexpensive car at the time), without disclosing the flood history and they sold it at a price that did not reflect the fact that it had taken a swim and needed major work to make it salable again. Gant did what I and many others would have done and sought to have the situation and misrepresentation corrected. If it had been sold it as a flooded car with appropriate pricing, then there would not have been an issue, but that was not the case with this car.
My worry when Gant finally got them to take the car back was that they were just going to do the same over again. I would be curious to know if each and everyone of the owners that bought it after Gant was told that it was flooded. My guess is that subsequent owners still did not disclose the history of the car. I know I would have not been happy to be an owner of this car if the history were not disclosed to me.
U-Boat Timeline Update:
Still running strong and the normal maintenance wear and tear items replaced.
Diff bearings and seals were replaced at 108,000 due to a small leak.
She is sitting at 114,400 miles now.
The question now is.. do I sell or do I starting building a dedicated track car?

Long story but it bounced around until I was lucky to buy it in 2013 only to google the VIN and find this post. haha.
It's been a great Porsche for me!
Wow! This is a seriously old thread, that has been brought back from the dead.
Wellardmac...Wayne, how are you? Are you retired yet? Do you still have any fun cars?
To the current owner of this beautiful car (human911), I still have my crispy critter 99 996 that I documented the rebuild of here, about 20 years ago. Your car looks great! I used to rebuild salvage cars for entertainment. I doubt that I will ever part with my 996. I have an 05 Range Rover that I bought from the insurance auction (IAAI). It was a dealer only car, so I got a dealer friend to bid on it for me. When I got it, it had a clean title....even though I knew it was a salvaged car. I tried to get Land Rover to fix something under warranty (it only had 14k miles). They wouldn't fix it under warranty, because they showed in their system that it had a salvage history. I still don't know how it ended up with a clean title. If I ever sold it, I wouldn't dream of not disclosing it's salvage history.
Human911, do you mind telling me what track you are driving on? I'm in Idaho and I'm building a non Porsche track car. About the only thing that I miss about CA, is there are road race tracks all over Northern California. The closest track that I have found online is 5 hours away in Salt Lake City.
An old thread indeed ...Good to see the U-Boat still alive and kicking.... !!!
I have repaired a few "flood cars" at Porsche as a Tech ....Some for individuals, some for Insurance Companies, and even some for the Porsche Driving School Fleet .... **** Happens !!!
Some Insurance Companies will total a car if the carpet gets wet.......but if the car still can be repaired and usefull then thats what should be done..... As far as the value and if the car is branded a "flood car" was not my responsibilty and I wouldn't consider a car worthless if it had been flooded.....Each car has to be evaluated on it's on ...
It's so good to see you! I love to hear that you still have the crispy critter.
It still looks amazing. I miss my 996. It looked incredible with the aerokit and always turned heads in ways that non-aero cars fail to do.
I'm not on Rennlist so much anymore, but old threads like this pull me in occasionally, as I love to see the old gang.
As for cars, I got a 991 C2S and had that alongside the Macan GTS and the 996 for a while, but the reality was that I wasn't driving the 996 much so I sold it. It was a nice garage for a while though.
I did have an Audi S5 for a while, but wasn't impressed and now I just have the 991 and the GTS.
Great news is that daughter (youngest) now has her license and I'm hoping to get her into autocross this year. I'm semi retired at this point. Executives are disposible, so it wasn't really my choice, as I got caught up in a board mandated restructuring, I'm trying to work out next steps, but enjoying getting more sleep, having less stress and not spending half my life on a plane.
Nice to see that you're still building cars!
Thanks Wayne. Your 991 and GTS are beautiful. That is exciting about your daughter. My only kid (of three), that is into cars, is my daughter. I have two grandchildren and I'm absolutely going to try and pass on my car addiction to both of them. I have enough property to make a nice dirt oval track. I have already warned their parents that I'm going to buy them an offroad go kart. I hope that you have a blast with your daughter at the autocross track.
I was retired after 25 years in a career that I loved. I wasn't ready to be retired. I got to spend years with my late wife that I wouldn't trade for anything. I hope you enjoy every minute of your semi retirement. You can't put a price on time with the people you love.
Here is my latest toy car. I bought another (foxbody Saleen) for my track toy.
Thanks!
Your Mustang looks great! Fox bodies have always been underappreciated.
It's nice that you have space for a track. I'm jealous. My daughter has been going to car meets with me since she was young - my son used to also, but eventually lost interest. I'm happy that one of them picked up my car addiction. I put them both through car handling school after they got their licenses and with my daughter she liked it enough to want to do AX so I bought her a helmet and we'll see how she does.
As for retirement, the longer I'm away from the rat race, the harder it will become to go back. I said I'd look for a different path if I didn't find another exec position before Summer. We'll see. It has to be the right fit for me to consider it. When did your wife pass? I don't remember you mentioning it, didn't you move together to Idaho? You are right about spending time with family. My career has dominated my life, so I am enjoying having family time. We'll see how long it lasts.
Wayne, I did a car stuff (PCA and Shelby club) with my boys and daughter. My daughter is the only one who has the "need for speed". The love of my life went to heaven 21/2 years ago at 58. Cancer sucks. We moved to Idaho 10 years ago. Fortunately, our oldest son and his wife moved here also. I get to hang out with my grandson as much as I want.
I'm so sorry. I agree. Cancer sucks. Both my wife and I have had it. No fun. I'm sure that eventually it will come knocking on our door again at some point in the future.
I remember the move and thought I remembered it being a "family" move. I'm glad that you're with your family in Idaho and can share your love of cars with your daughter. I hope I get to do the same with mine for a long time. She went to her first PCA meeting this week and has already said she wants to buy a 944 and graduate to a 911. I've successfully passed along my sickness.
Thanks Wayne, I'm glad that you and your wife have it behind you. I helped my oldest son buy a 944 for his first car. He never drove it. We fixed a couple minor things on it and he decided that he didn't want a manual car, so he got a 3 series, steptronic BMW. I bought it from the insurance auction. He was wise to make that decision...he is a horrible driver. Your daughter is going to love a 944. They are a perfect first car for a future caraholic. Nice job.
Affinity Circuit in White City Oregon. More of a Auto X, Drifting, GO Kart track. I like to go out on test days and whip it around especially on the rainy days!
Human911, thanks. I saw that you are in Oregon and I didn't recognize the track. I was hoping that there was a track in eastern Oregon, that I didn't know about. There is a new track about 15 miles from me that sounds similar. It is a Nascar paved 1/2 mile banked oval with a kart track in the middle. I'm going to give it a try in the summer. Thanks again.
Giving major Porsche Motorsport cup car vibes with this collection. I would have been hard pressed to sell off my aero car knowing how well they all complement each other. 😄
Yup. I loved my aero. It always turned heads, but the truth is that I wasn't driving it enough with the other two in the garage. Thankfully it went to another enthusiast and he's loving it now, but there's nothing to beat the looks of that car. It's actually amusing considering how much the 996 got over the years and I'm now seeing it loved.
I have a model of your car on my desk.
Yes, and he has every right to be. Caveat emptor sounds great right up until some unscrupulous dealer sells you an abused mint green GT3 at $50K over marlet as a "clean, meticulously maintained" car.
Consumers need to draw the line. Government will not - and we really shouldn't want them to exercise that level of control.
