Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi, Car is a 1999 911 C2 Cab with ~100k miles. For the last oil changes I have seen a bunch of brown plastic debris in the oil. Figured it's time to change the pads. I will have a shop do it. To avoid any confusion with the shop, exactly what parts do I need to replace? (Picture taken from http://www.autoatlanta.com/porsche-p...section=103-10 ) Is it just the ones in the red circle ( http://www.autoatlanta.com/tinyresul...=550&width=875 ) Nr 19 requires splitting the case right? What about 30 and 33? Many thanks

POST 2Original post

I removed 30 and 33 before splitting the cases, but I had the heads off.

POST 3Original post

Only number 9. The others do not have much to do with cam timing adjustment.

Ok thanks! But they might still be worn? I have a hard time figuring out this engine, the valve train gets confusing for me! (My other car is an old straight six, has 1 cam, 2 valves. That's simple!)
