Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I have Ohlins R&T installed with factory top mounts on my C4S.
Leading evidence: 'Install with factory top mounts' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Install with factory top mounts' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi,
I had planned to lower/upgrade the suspension on my C4S but not quite so soon...after being advised during its service last week that I need new top mounts I thought I would get it done sooner all in one hit......I haven't 100% decided on which suspension yet still torn.
I like the convenience of the M030...reasonably priced, ARB's inc, and all purchased together ready for a straight swap over. I just don't know if it will give me the stance I'm looking for.
I'm leaning to -25mm RUF springs (H&R look a little too low), coupled up with Bilstien B8 dampers. I've priced up and should come in near the 1200 mark. Someone did throw a curve ball on Rennlist pointing out that PSS10's are on offer at Carnewal for 1600ish, but I don't think I will ever benefit from full coilovers.
My question is do I still buy stock OEM top mounts, or do I need an alternative version if lowering....I noticed Design911 have top mounts specifically for the M030? These are pricey though....a pair of stock top mounts will be less than 100, whereas the M030 jobbies are over 400 notes.
Then I saw these for a pair......

Any advice would be really appreciated👍🏻
Unless the C4S is drastically different from a C2, then, no you don't need special mounts. Stock top mounts worked fine on my B8s with H&R lowering springs, but on a C2.
C4 top mounts for the front are totally different than those for a C2. The only reason I can see for getting something other than the stock ones is if you want additional camber adjustability.
I am currently in the same boat. I just acquired a 2002 C4S with 100k miles and the suspension is BAD! I went ahead and ordered Tarret front camber plates/top mounts to pair with my H&R springs and B8 shocks, and since all bushings were BAD, I got the tie rods (TRW) and forks (EPS) from Amazon and working on sourcing control arms OEM, sway bars, and all drop links. I did not want to spend the money to place Powerflex busings on old parts since my car is my daily. I will attempt to do the suspension swap split in two days.
