Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I used the earlier AD08s for street but they weren't R comps.
Leading evidence: 'Use earlier ad08s' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Use earlier ad08s' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi from the mountains! I just got my first Porsche a few weeks ago, and I love it (of course)! I'm coming from Bimmers. My last two cars were an E39 M5 and an E92 M3, and I loved them. This Carrera is a different beast.
The AWD feel took some adjustment on my part, but I needed it if I was going to drive this car at all outside of five months of the year. I have family across the Divide, so snow tires are in the picture for sure.
The dealership has been great to me. They had an extra hardtop that had been laying around there for a couple of years, so they threw that in, along with a wind deflector. The hardtop has a different interior, but from the outside it's a perfect match. I ordered the necessary hardware from Suncoast and just had that professionally installed. On Friday I drove the car for the first time with the hard top. Not a rattle or squeak! But wow, it is so much quieter than even with the ragtop up. It almost makes me wish I had gotten the coupe. Almost!
The car seems solid. I love the SSK. I'd be taking it out to the track this year if I wasn't so busy. So next year, probably with some new brake pads and perhaps some AD08Rs. We're not sure if the IMS has been done, so I'm planning on some preventative service in the near future to deal with that and the clutch and RMS.
Anyway, some pics!

Congrats on a very nice Porsche. I recently attended the Colorado Springs PCA event which was a lot of fun. Great roads and very nice dealer there as well. Enjoy your new to you Porsche.
That's a great looking C4S! You don't see too many C4S cabriolets, especially in red. The Sport Techno wheels aren't common either.
I drove my 996 C4S all winter in Colorado. With proper tires, it's a great car in slippery conditions.
You should consider joining Porsche Club of America and/or Porsche Breakfast Club. We have a great group of people in the local clubs who are Porsche enthusiasts. The PCA Rocky Mountain Region has a great drive coming up on Saturday; the Triple Bypass drive up to Breckenridge for lunch. My wife and I are planning to attend in our brown 997 cabriolet.
Thanks!
Thank you. I have a Passport. They're required for M cars as well.
Great. Thanks!
Yes, I'm looking for decent snow tires.
I've joined the PCA. A few years ago I drove several PCA events at HPR. A great club! Made a few friends. I'm going to miss the Triple Bypass this year, alas. Just drove to Telluride and back. It's back to work for me. I'm definitely going to try getting to some other events, though. Have a fun drive to Breck!
Beautiful! Congratulations and welcome.
I have the AD08R's on my car and highly recommend them for a streetable track tire - very sticky and predictable.
Thanks! (My last car was speed yellow. That was pretty fast, too.)
Good to know. I used the earlier AD08s for street but they weren't R comps. Once I went to Hoosiers, though, the AD08s felt so sloppy. I ended up getting a racecar.
I have to say, I love how planted the car feels. BMWs are known for their balance, and tracking an M3 is huge fun. But the 911, with so much of the weight in back, has a completely different feel. Very solid on the highways and mountain roads. Every day I look for excuses to drive.
