This is not a probability of success.

Also, the hydraulic posts dont easily fit into the C2 engine bay without reworking things (replacing airbox with an aftermarket intake or cutting up the airbox, and moving the secondary air pump bracket), so people often go with fixed height or manually adjustable posts.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

I have a 1999 cab Carrera MK1. I have the oppurtunity to buy a genuine 2001 turbo deck lid with spoiler. Will this be a direct fit?

Nope, it won't be a direct fit. I've read where many people have tried. Both the C4S and Turbo have different sized rear deck lids

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Figures. Will it fit with modification? major or minor?

I would think it would be some major metal work to make it look right, but I personally have never wanted to try some thing like this. I'll admit, the Turbo rear deck lid is one of my favorite especially with the hydraulic spoiler. I wish I could remember the title of the Rennlister that attempted to modify the rear deck. If I'm not mistaken, he ended up given up on the project because he could get the upper section (above the spoiler grille) removed. I think it's easier to find an aftermarket design. Many people go with the GT3 aero rear deck lid/spoiler, but a lot of aftermarket solutions out there.

POST 5Original post

I have a turbo decklid in the garage and it doesnt fit the C2. People have made them fit by cutting back the (fiberglass) edges, but it isnt a quick/easy swap (measure, cut, fit, repeat until perfect, then repaint). Also, the hydraulic posts dont easily fit into the C2 engine bay without reworking things (replacing airbox with an aftermarket intake or cutting up the airbox, and moving the secondary air pump bracket), so people often go with fixed height or manually adjustable posts.

Thank you guys. I almost purchased a modified and hand maid MK1 functioning decklid. In the end I backed off. Wrong time of year for me to be spending $2100 on my car. Honestly it’s worth every penny. But my wallet is a bit lighter in the winter. I will either find something or go back to the seller and buy it.
