If your car has over 20-30k mi, you may improve mileage by running a bottle of Techron to clean up the injectors and runners.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Now that gas prices have gone up so much I'm curious what kind of gas mileage y'all get and what sort of prices you're paying.
I just filled up my 99 c2 at my local Chevron for 2.27 / gal and I usually get around 22-23 mpg.
Tim
I don't know about my mpg right now but I just paid $2.48 (cheapest place in town). I passed a couple of stations that were at $2.58 yesterday.....
"I hear it's going to top $3.00 pretty soon!
"More road space for me and more car-pool for others"
-Eli
I got the bus - da, da, da
but I went bust - da, da, da
the price of fuel - da, da, da
just wasn't cool - da, da, da
I got those low down high gas prices blues.

Mine is 22mpg. I take train more often for commute.
I hope more hybrid cars come out soon. Hydrogen cars, where are you hiding??
On the highway, I get 24-26 mpg;
In the city, I get 15-16 mpg;
On the track, I consistently get 9 mpg, every time, which is pretty remarkable since I used to get about that in my '67 Firebird convertible on the highway.
we pay 1,16 Euro per litre !!!
1,16 * 1,25 = dollars per litre,
1,16 * !,25 * 4,5 = dollars per gallon (european one - a little bigger than the US one) (figures rounded for convience - it's 00.30 here now)
Anyway thats about 6$50 per gallon !!! (at least it's 98 octane)
.....and I get about 11 litres per 100km (work that out yourself)
Berny, this may be a dumb question, but are Euro's used in the UK?
Oh yeah, I count my blessings everytime I fill up and think back to the times I filled up in Europe! I thought "about the price we pay back in the states" then I realized it was litres not gallons!
But then again I will concede that us Americans like to complain about EVERYTHING and not realize how great we have it.
It's a fair question...but the answer is no. We are still on Pounds Sterling which is 100 pence to the pound.
Your right. The cost of living is way better in the US. Pretty much everything including Porsche's are about half the price in the UK.
Hmmm..... this could get interesting.....I hope your Irish
Britain has had lost too many to the two wars with Germany.....we don't want to hand it to them on a plate just because everyone else is joining in. Besides, the world is a better place with variety......and thank heavens for the English Channel
Yeah it's a real bummer. It goes like this.....
You get hit with 40% tax in your pay.
Then you pay something like 70% tax on fuel.
Then you pay 17.5% tax on the cost of the fuel to boot.
The only thing you don;t get taxed on in Britain is farting
Yeah, but you guys get great health care! LOL! How long does it take now to get an appointment with one of the Goverement Doctors, now? Is it less than a year yet? I know all my relatives there have to pay extra to see a doctor who cares. Same in Italy.
....and the Irish sea.....I am Irish !!
Ireland was the first country to achieve the economic stability to join the euro...but there wasn't even a Porsche importer for Ireland then !!
Here is one of the cheapest places for Porsches - but they are selling US Cayennes here now as the dollar is so Weak. Ireland is one of the most expensive as they charge a "vehicle registration tax" the first time a car is registered in Ireland, even a second hand one.
This tax is based on what the tax guys think your car is worth on the Irish Market with the taxes paid.
but......
we got the best beer.
we got the best bands.
we got the best gals.
we got the best football teams.
we got the best driving tracks.
we are also in a great location. I mean, I am driving to Spain next month via France. And its cheap to fly too. Typically $100 will get you to most locations in Europe from just about anywhere in England.
So it aint that bad.
It won't long to be in the same boat as you in the Syayes, unless we do away with both social security and medicare. What happened to taking care of yourself and your family and not looking to the Boverments (your neighbors) for a handout. Glad I'll be dead by then.
Sorry for the misspelling in the last post, but I got into a debate with one of the modirators in the GT2 forum last night and his ego got the best of him. He turned off many of my access options, such as editing my own meaasges, on this forum. Maybe one of the other moderators will tell him to grow up.
now you've been at the beer too much !!
as for bands Abba outsold the beetles and two of them looked better in skirts !!
as for gals...love the one you're with !!
as for football teams nah, most of your top teams are using imports !!
they've got the nurburgring here - I've tried it - its great - but not wide enough
Talking about GT2's....I know this is going way OT....but I am looking at a GT2 front bumper on ebay and can't make my mind up on it. What do ya think?
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...e=STRK:MEWA:IT
I have been collecting bits for the face uplift. So I have everything except the front PU. I presume it will fit. I spoke to the guy and he said it is in perfect nick. But I don;t have a clue who made it so undecided yet.
I think it will fit if you change the lights and the wings.....
BTW...Liverpool is only the alternative capital. I think Dublin is mostly Manchester supporters now.
Now what was this thread about anyway?
It's a long story. Basically I spoke to Tod (I think that was his name) and he could not do me a deal as ity would cause problems with his distributor over here. They are Ninemeister and they charge about 10,000 to fit it. That's $20,000 which means it's just not worth it. If I could find a way to do it at US prices I would jump at it. But it is just too expensive over here.
There is also big problems with insurance as the hike in costs for a modded Porsche engine are astrinomical.
In Sydney, Australia, today its $1.11 per Litre (98 octane) which is (1.11 x 4.55 litres=Gallon) $5.05 per gallon, but someone told me your gallon is not the same as an imperial gallon,so its another volume?
in Ontario we are about 88 cents a litre right now. But that could be 76 cents a litre next week.
Goes up and down like a hookers dress on a weekend night!
$ 2.59 gal in WA state, diesel is 2.79 WTF, My commuter is a Ford Superduty chipped and whipped. I like going to OR for gas because at least for the same price it is full srvice, the WON'T let you pump yourself.
We were on our annual trip to the desert this weekend, and here is the Furnace Creek Chevron Gas prices. I had expected them to be higher, but they were only 40 higher than in LA.
OK - you guys keep proving that my analogy between owning the P-car and a private airplane is true. As we say in owning private planes ----- putting gas in the tank(s) is the CHEAPEST thing you can do with one of these!!!
