Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Today while driving in or actually getting on the freeway I jump in to the fast lane, quick yet no double lane changes to keep it legal when I noticed a Sheriffs Deputy on the freeway yes I know weird. Anyhow he tried hiding behind a mini van so he could try and catch me as I zoomed by.. Sorry no luck Charley, you only gave me time to strap in and cruse. Once he knew I was on he merged off the freeway 4 lanes away and exited. I then bumped it up to a reasonable speed.

POST 2Original post

I'm sure that traffic cops would never admit it, but they seem to love giving speeding tickets to Porsche drivers. There's a speedtrap on I 83 about 15 miles soutgh of the MD/PA border. The speed limit is 65 and all the locals slow down as we approach the trap. Although I rarely see 911s on my commute, I often see them pulled over at the speed trap. About a month ago a really beautiful black 996 with the Aero kit passed me as we approached the trap. I flashed my lights at him to warn him but apparently he missed my warning. He couldn't have been going much faster than 75 but sure enough he was pulled over. Maybe the cops feel that all guys with high performance cars speed, so they don't hesitate to give them tickets even when their speeding is nominal.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I remember a local sign trap that got me..... I went back with a big sign to warn others on the other side of the under-pass...... It was a stop sign that had no place in the middle of the block..... Needless to say that after about 20 minutes everyone who passed read my "COP AT STOP" sign and was warned. I went back and didn't see him.. -Eli

POST 4Original post

nahhh , I disagree, not all cops is after 911 for ticketting ( only 99.9%) I just meat one of then remaining 0.1% recently. I just got off with a warning for going 40 in a 25 mph/zone last sat. after work.... It was 530pm last Sat ... cruzing home...V1 went off FULL 7 bars strength with K-band indicator ( I thought : probably another home alarm or door sensor.., but was a bit confused about the strenght b/c normally it would be gradual and much weaker.).. bammmm couple second later I see the depressive colors ( red & blue) on my A** pulling me over ... typical questions for the cop... my typical answer " really... I didn't realize.. officer.. I was in only 2nd gear ... He smiled and said " sir you have a 911 carrera you know very well what a second gear can do...." ..but surprisingly after checking reg and insurance he let me go with a warning . DAAAmmmmmmmmm that was toooo close for comfort...would have been BAD b/c i just got one last year. now I think about it : I think it was the white lab coat(= healthcare provider) haging in the rear that probably saved my A**... and a word of warning to everyone out there : do not ignore k-band nor x-band! these could be instant on alike lazer = very little warning ! have fun & good lucks ladies and gentlemen !

POST 5Original post

Its funny how alert we have to be when driving these cars, always looking out for the boys in blue.

POST 6Original post

The cops around here mainly pick on the younger folks. I dont ahve a 911 yet, its my next car. I have a very heavy foot but have been very lucky since i know where EVERY speed trap around here is. AND my VR4 is rarely on the road long enough for me to ahve any real fun with it I've been pulled over many times though, every single time for speeding I love having a very good freind whos also a very good lawyer Jason

POST 9Original post

damant, i have similar story, though wasn't driving a p-car. one recent morning, got pulled over for doing 44 in a 25 mph zone, by two 5-0's on the side of the street w/ a radar gun. after handing over my license/reg, i off-handedly mentionned that i needed to get to the o.r. (only half true since the case was in the afternoon) he simply handed back my id, said "have a nice day" and walked away. sweet!! didn't think it would work, but i'll take it!
