Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 1 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have a 99' C2 Cab which is trying desperately to hold on to every sunny day of Summer / Fall. Today I tried to put the top up just for security reasons and she was dead. Nothing. I made sure the trunk was closed as I read that it won't go up if it was open at all (it wasn't). I checked the fuse (it was good). It worked fine yesterday... Any suggestions? It's better it is stuck down than up. I am lucky that it is a certified car as I would expect this would be covered. Thanks!

POST 2Original post

the top's operation is dependant on the handbrake being up and the only way the car can know that is by a 'microswitch' inside the handbrake, it is common for this to fail, and thusly, to disable the top from moving. try jiggling the handbrake and makin sure the "PARK" light illuminates, that should fix your problem the part itself is like a 20$ replacement. good luck.

POST 3Original post

Had the same problem. Bad handbrake microswitch, like moogle said.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks guys! That was the problem. Got the park light to come on and up went the top. Thanks!!!!!!!
