You already devised a good way to test the windshield - without even knowing it!
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi,
Im a new porsche owner and quite new here also.
I bought my 2001 C2 a month ago. There are some things to fix and the most annoying one for now is the demister vents (see pic). When Im close to, or above, 75 mph there is a lot of wind noise coming from the demister vents. I have tried with AC totally off, circulation on and off and nothing seems to make a difference.
Has anyone had the same problem ?
Wonder if there is a flap or something that is stuck or maybe a seal that has deteriorated ??
I was not sure. But this morning I taped of the vents and still the same wind noise.
You might be right, it may be the bottom of the windshield.
Have to come upp some idea to test if its from the windshield...
You already devised a good way to test the windshield - without even knowing it! Apply tape around the edges of the windshield and see if the noise lessens. Pinpoint the location by applying and removing tape in certain areas.
Hi Again, tested everything now and still the same sound. Nothing is actuall "windy" inside only wind noise.Tried the flip the wipers but the sound doesnt change when they are upp.
Hmm, this is so strange!
Here is quick video of the wind noise inside, hard to hear in the video but anyway :-)
Taped outside of the car. See green markings. Still the same noise.
I also tried to tape front of the hood, the red marked area and found the culprit. Seems like air passes under the hood and makes a lot of noise near the windshield.
Isnt this strange ?? The rubber seal around the tub looks good.
Dont know how to fix this...might need to change te rubber seal maybe ????
The latch is adjustable. If u pull the carpet back u will see 2, 10mm head bolts. U can try moving it down slightly. If u go too far it may not release so make sure your manual cable works and is accessible
