I'm not sure about the C4S but guys running Turbos on the track seem to favor Hoosiers 305/30/18 & 245/40/18.

Looking to replace the stock tires on my C4-S with some auto-x & track tires.
I'll probably be doing about 75% auto-x and 25% track.
Tire Rack only lists Michelin PSC's and Pirelli P-Zero Corsa's for my tire sizes. I checked for Hoosier, Kumho etc. and couldn't find anything.
Are my options this limited?
I've heard MSPC's are good for track, so-so for auto-x
Any feedback on the Corsa's for my intended use?

There was an article on Pano regarding the tire choices for 18" wheels for the track. MPSC was top choice. Unfortunately, Corsa was not yet available, and was not in the comparison.
I've had a recent chance to use Dunlop Super Sport Race tires. R compound DOT tires. The closest size available were 285x30 for the rears. I used them mostly for track, not autocross. The sizes worked out just fine. The diff in rolling diameter was small enough that PSM doesn't notice, and at the same time may have resulted in less understeer. Since the sizes for the front are readily available with most brands, using this size for the rear will significantly open up your choices.
The MPSC's will shine on the track. They have excellent grip, and relatively longer tread life than other R-compounds. These will be my next set of track tires since I do mostly track. The Dunlop Super Sport Race tires won't be commercially available here n the US until 2004. Neither of them will probably work as well for autocross compared to other R compounds, since they take a bit longer to heat up to their operating temps. Kumho and Hoosier seem to be favorites. For mostly autocross, these should serve you better. 285x30 for the rear will work just fine, if not better for autocrsoss due to potentailly less understeer.
Consider getting a deicated set of track wheels as well. R-componds that heat up fast (good for autocross) don't last long at all if used as street tires.

BTW, I just spent this weekend at DE, with the whole day Sunday in the rain. I used the street tires, P-Zero assimtricos. I think their reputation as bad wet tires is undeserved. The C4S, the Pirellis, and I kicked a## in the rain!
According to Tire Rack, the diameters are 25.6 & 25.3. I think that is well within the tolerance. The downside to these are that they are fairly tall so they effectively raise your gearing. This will either be good or bad depending on the track.
Hey guys,
I'm jump starting an old thread here, but it's AutoX season and I need some new tires! What's the latest consensus for AutoX tires these days? Any recommendations on sizes? I'm also looking for something semi street friendly so I can roll them to and from the track. Tire Rack seems to have more options these days. I'm leaning towards the PZero Corsas.
