Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.
Discussions that suspect a cause
1
0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Suspected cause
It is probably a little harder to maintain than silver but there are a lot of silver 996's out there.
Leading evidence: 'little harder' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'little harder' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Clean white beast is a bitch' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

The only real negative: cleaning the white beast is a bitch.

someone mentioned it would be hard to clean, but i would suspect that keeping a black car clean would be more difficult.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Can you guys give me your thoughts on a white 996?
1. How will it be on resale ??????
2. Do you think a 996 looks good in white?
It seems to be a rare color you don't see many around, its kind of a retro color like red was hot in the 80's but not in the 00's.
Can someone post some pics.
If you don't keep it perfect then it might as well be another white Buick with road tar on the side.
The good news is you can wax it with everyday wax like NuFinish frequently and you do not have to worry about swirl marks. Plan on glossing the tires for contrast.
White is stunning on a Porsche...I've seen a few 996's, Boxsters, and a GT3 in white...all beautiful.
That said, white does not show off the lines of the car like a Guards Red or Silver might, but that's personal preference.
I have a Guards Red 996 and a white S500 Benz.
The only real negative: cleaning the white beast is a bitch. A spot that would barely show on Guards shows like a beacon of light on the white. If you can handle that, go for it.
Looks good with blue interior or gray.
I think white looks great. I have seen a few lately, and they look like racing cars just before all the advertising has been painted on...
I really like the look of the GT3-RS in white with red trim.
this looks like it will be the only "no" vote on white, but it's really a question that boils down to personal preference. i'm not a big fan of the white color, just seems too.... old? not sure what the word is, but doesn't put the sporty feeling on things.
someone mentioned it would be hard to clean, but i would suspect that keeping a black car clean would be more difficult.
i'm a big fan of the more common colors like seal gray and arctic silver.
the one color i do have a strong opinion on is the zanzibar red. what in the world were they thinking?
in the end, the most important thing is that you love the car, color included. i don't care what anyone thinks of my silver car, it makes me happy and there isn't a single time i open the door to get into it that i don't feel like the luckiest guy on the planet.
enjoy whatever you end up with!
I have a Glacier White 996 and personally I do not think there is a better color out there for my car. Please feel free to check it out on my website below.
Ever seen a white GT2, it shows the lines beautifully, but then I'm biased.
For resale value, you will never lose with silver, seal gray or black, these are the most sought after.
But I still pick white!
Hey Rich,
your car looks great in white! I'd get the clear side markets though... orange looks dated... the clear markets would look hot...
but white looks exotic...

I like the red interior on a white car... good contrast... stay away from grey...
color is personal preference...
I think White looks great on the 996. It's a very rare color and is a lot easier to take care of than any darker color. It is probably a little harder to maintain than silver but there are a lot of silver 996's out there.
