Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

2 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have a Bose stereo in my '03 C2. I had my amp replaced last week because my stereo would intermittently "freeze", and not turn on. Now, the stereo turns on just fine, but it sounds strange. Sounds like all highs/mids, with little bass. From this, 2 questions: 1) does a head-unit need to be "coded" for Bose after a new amp is installed? 2) does the Bose system have a different amp? Thanks, any ideas appreciated, Scott. '03C2 6spd, coupe.

POST 2 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

rumor has it, from renntech.org, that Porsche changed amps in mid '03. the later amps have much lighter bass output. I need to run it at +8 bass and +0 treble in order to approximate the sound of the previous/original amp. strangeness...
