Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

And nobody here gives a rat's end what your politics are...........I used the word socialist, to be polite., I ment "freeloader".

(BTW: I personally don't get along with this guy but I know that he has a lot of support on this board so I'm just using him as an example.) Does this mean that he lacks character and honesty?
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Im not sure if all have noticed it, but this board has changed somewhat......I love rennlist.....why.....because its a community and we are a group of (mostly) men who love our cars, and the transfer of information that improves our situation. Ive noticed that the powers that be here do not allow this all the time. Especally when it comes to non memeber adds that have to do with material goods, the non member classifieds have been deleted. What does this mean to the average use.....some percentage of porsche parts at whatever cost go unavailable to you. There is a large number of people out there who have owned porsches and have garages full of stuff they would like to get rid of but are not crazy enough about porsches to pay to join our board. I say that if the moderators truly had our best interests in mind they would reinstitute the non member classifieds as opposed to worrying about the profit margin this board makes.
Thanks for your opinion. You can always list them on e-Bay - one ad will probably cost more then one years Membership - then you can always use e-Bays dispute resolution system - should there be a problem - which of course, there never would be a problem on e-Bay.
Or - you can join PCA - and list them there. That's what - $42 per year? And oh - only other PCA Members can see your ads..?
Hmmm - it is a perplexing problem? However - please be assured that the reason only Members can post their items is because a) I do have their best interests in mind, and b) when there is a "profit" - I'll be certain to worry about it. In the meantime - I won't quit my "paying - day job"...
Thanks for your input....
Dude, you have 14 posts that doesn't seem too active on the site and there is a really good reason why the classifieds were pulled. Your agenda can only be assumed.
im gonna join...ive been active on this board for several years under a different user name....i just wanted to post my oppinions in an anonomous mannor and see what everybody thought.
Phoenix, solve this easily: become a member!
Don't you get $18 per year value? (you must, otherwise what would you be complaining about missing?) C'mon, just do it!
Free, you want free...........Great,..............another moocher. Yer wastin' yer breath.......This board is the best by a wide margin of any others out there. If you don't wanna join, don't.......
But you will get a better reception for your socialist whining somewhere else.........
There have been scams in the free classifieds where people were getting ripped off. As there is very little recourse from John's perspective to help the victims, they were removed. Is that a good enough explanation for you?!?
I ain't "everybody" and only speak for myself........This site is a great place run by reasonable people, AT COST. You weigh in with what appears to be an uninformed opinion of what should and should not be allowed here, without even the courtesy of being a paid member, and you want it for free. Sounds like whining..........That is what I "think".
And nobody here gives a rat's end what your politics are...........I used the word socialist, to be polite., I ment "freeloader".
Great place here, get to know it, before you decide to run for King.
Use it once or twice, free, to see if the board is what you want. If it is, join it or don't come back to it. Why should the members subsidize the freeloaders. It's simply a matter of character and honesty.
This board is simply more than a place to put up ads and sell stuff. It is a community composed of a wide variety of people, with interesting and occasionally aggravating devergent opinions
. If anyone wants to sell something Porsche related but is "not crazy enough to join", then I'm not interested in whatevr it is they are trying to sell. They can keep it.
John D and Viken -
I am starting to see some of the hassle that you guys have to put up with from some people. You should know that there are a lot of members here who love what you have created and run. The level of information and the amount of time that people put into answering questions from people who are new to Porsches (like me) is really phenominal. I know that my last 12 months, researching and then purchasing a 996, would have been much less enjoyable if I hadn't stumbled upon your site.
So the next time you have to deal with someone giving you a hard time, remember all the people out here who are using the board every day and silently appreciating all your work.
Tim
Looks like it, and thanks for pointing it out.......reading the other threads is quite entertaining. We may not all agree on which model Porsche is the best, but apparently everybody had the same take on mr. phoenix....
this was posted on the 993 site....pretty funny.
There once was a guy named Phoenix,
Who had the short end of the double helix.
He wanted a free pass,
No one gave a rats a$$,
So the paying members gave him the deep six.
BTW he did not post it on the 928 site, the old boys there would have really let him have it.............that site is my regular stompin' grounds.
I don't want to be a devil's advocate, nor do I want to side with that phoenix guy up there but I do want to get several things straight.
I joined rennlist as a member because I personally know that there are costs involved in building and maintaining a website. I am a member of multiple forums and I pay for some and on others I am just a passive member.
IMHO paying to be a member does not necessarily show loyalty nor does it show you love the site. Paying simply shows that you appreciate what the site owner has done or that you want to take advantage of the services being offered to paying members. In the current situation, Phoenix wants to post ads for free. The site admin doesn't want to allow non-registered (i.e. nonpaying) members to post classified ads because of security and past problems. The site admin, as owner of the site, can choose whatever he wants and thus people like Phoenix will have to post their ads elsewhere. This is completely different from what others have advocated above.
Look at one of the most prominent members on this site. . . Tool Pants. As I have learned, he is probably one of the most valuable contributors to this site. Yet he is not a paying member. (BTW: I personally don't get along with this guy but I know that he has a lot of support on this board so I'm just using him as an example.) Does this mean that he lacks character and honesty? Probably not. Rather, I think that paying for membership (especially to sites that don't REQUIRE membership) is more of our way of saying thank you to the admins and owners. I'm sure that this site probably doesn't generate much if any revenue. In fact, most of the other boards that I either run or have tried running lose revenue. as John D. simply put it, keep the day job because these sites are more for fun than anything else.
If you are bitter that you think that your 18 measley dollars are subsidizing the "freeloaders" then you probably need the 18 dollars back. Nobody made you pay the 18 bucks. Nobody even asked you to pay 18 bucks. You paid it on your own free will. looky here... ah forget it... whatever... back to the day job.
