In my search for a 996, I have developed an affinity for the black on black with black wheels look. Since I'm looking at '03 models, i.e., used cars, I most likely will not find one already having black wheels. I'm assuming black wheels are not necessarily an OEM feature, and that you can in fact paint the wheels black Has anyone ever painted their wheels black aftermarket? Does it only work on certain wheel types? How much does it cost? Thanks in advance for the info...

I took my wheels to a wheel repair shop where they stripped and the powder coated the wheels. They also clear coated and machined the outer rim. They cost about $125 each. I did it about 2 years ago and have had no problems with use on both street and track. Luckily I had the rims machined because I have a little curb rash which would have torn through the black.
