Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

25 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

I think its kinda cool looking...but still not in keeping with the perceived brand image, tho the pepper kinda already ruined that...

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

as suspected and rumored for months...from Autobild:

POST 3Original post

I guess Ferrari has done that as well in the past. But hey, they already make SUVs, they can't really go down from there...

POST 4Original post

POST 5Original post

A sedan might be a good idea to keep the company profitable, but yikes is right. I don't think they should give it a 911 look, start fresh or ask Butzi to design one.

POST 7Original post

998? While it is shocking to think of a 4-door "911", maybe there is room for it. Just hope it has at least 400hp.

POST 8Original post

I guess I can't blame Porsche for trying to maintain profitability through expansion into other markets. However, regarding the styling... they need to quit making multiple models look so similar IMHO. The evolution of design within a particular model range is terrific, but a new model needs a fresh design. Just no flame surfacing and no "active" steering, please! BTW, that pic looks like a photoshop stretch Carrera.

POST 9Original post

Ahh - remember the good old days? A 944 model line, a 928 Model line, and a 911 model line. Each model line distinctive and unique. Each one expanded within it's line with turbo versions, S versions, etc, yet each line remained individual. Taking the 911 look and adding it to a truck, or a sedan, or even a front-engine/rear wheel GT car (ala 928) is a HUGE design and Brand mistake!

POST 10Original post

Well if its true that would be my 3rd car and only sedan. Course I would only go with a AWD.

POST 11Original post

Porsche makes other cars besides the 911... but who cares

POST 12Original post

A late April Fool's joke? (Do they have that in Germany?)

POST 13Original post

I guess if Porsche wanted to put the final nail in and declare them dead as a genuine sports car company, this act would do it.

POST 14Original post

Well Ferrari is launching a 4 door sedan as well... I really thought I was going to eat a shotgun when I heard Porsche was developing an SUV, but you know what... people still regard the 911 as one of the best sports cars in the world.

POST 15Original post

Looks like a photoshop to me... Why? It just looks too similar to the 911...especially in the rear.

POST 16Original post

It probably is photoshop, but I don't see if it really matters if it's Photoshop or real. If it's from Porsche, it might as well be real. It just shows the direction of their thinking.

POST 17Original post

Hell, I'd probably buy one, I'm tired of stuffing clients into my 996 anyway... A Porsche is still a Porsche..2 door or 4...and my wife Cayenne S is incredible..bring it on

POST 18Original post

This is not the first 4 door exercise for Porsche. Remember the 989 from the early 90's? That car was based on the 928 and was a front engined V8. If the rumors are correct this car will be based on the Phaeton chassis, which is a top notch platform. Expect a Cayenne twin turbo V8, and perhaps even a twin turbo W12 version with AWD! As a 996 owner, I think this progression is fine. Porsche will still make kick *** sports cars, but will broaden its product line with a kick *** sedan.

POST 19Original post

Why not? As long as It doesn't take anything away from the 911, they should do what they can to remain a profitable company. The similar looks of the product line is a mistake though.

POST 20Original post

Everybody does that now days, In marketing speak, it is called Brand Identity

POST 22Original post

I do not care for sedans, but I have to agree that this is a beautiful rendition of the genre and preserves the 911 curve theme. Not bad... not bad at all.

POST 23Original post

Reminds me of the 989. (Sorry Orient I didn't see your earlier post)

POST 24Original post

The similar looks of the product line is a mistake though. [/B][/QUOTE] LOL...you ever hear of BMW or Mercedes? How about Honda or Audi? EVERYONE has a complete line that share the same styling. Don't be so greedy, you guys sound like those guys on the GT-3 board who are praying that Porsche does not make any Gt-3's in 2005 so noone else can have one but them.

POST 25Original post

Why not. I like it! I have three kids and can't drive my 996 with everybody in it.
