Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hello fellow Porsche enthusiasts. I'm Absolutely brand new to the Porsche genre. I have come access a 2000 convertible 911 with 26k miles. I can get the car for 15k im sure. I drove the car and it drove strong and fine. There were no engine lights the car did not stutter It has 6speed many transmission that did feel a little sloppy. Here is the catch, it has a flood title. So whoud you by this car. It was not flooded recently, according to the dealer it has been with them for years.

POST 3Original post

Maybe if it was 5k and you save 15k to fix all the problems you MAY have to deal with for a water damaged car. And then if it doesn't have an issue, well it was a great deal!

POST 4Original post

Fresh or salt water? It makes a difference long term. I would offer $12K take some of the saved money and pay for a good 996 independent shop to do a nuts and bolts PPI checking all normal concerns plus a true deep dive into electronics. Rich

POST 6Original post

Personally I would run away . Having said that will the seller allow you to take the car to the shop of your choosing for a PPI ? If they say no so do you . The unknown is risky and $$$$ .

I would ask them to pay you $15k to take it off their hands. Yes, i am serious. If they wont pay you, then you should run away fast.
