Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Not all is bad, I'm having the PSE installed also.

I did not have the car with me at the time so it did not have anything to do with resetting codes, etc.

I had to bring the car to the dealer in case they needed to reset the computer.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I have a 2003 Targa. Went to play basketball at the Y today, when I returned to the car the ket light was stuck on and would not open anything. I had to open manually with the key, the alarm starting going off until I put the key in the ignition. The key light is still stuck on.
Does anyone have any suggestions/comments on this -- THANKS!!!
Open the key fob and pry out the battery, reinsert. If that works, great. If not, replace battery with new battery. Could be a bad key fob also, which requires a new key head and programming from dealer, but should be under warranty with an '03.
Pryed out the old battery,re-inserted it / tried a new one - LIGHT STILL ON. I'll car the dealer in the AM.
I'll keep this post up to date on what I find in case it helps someone else.
Delaer has to reset it, must have the car to do it. I have an appointment 4/12. Not all is bad, I'm having the PSE installed also. My 2nd key is acting up as well.
I had the same problem and the dealer removed the battery, blew on the contacts, reinserted the battery and all was well. I did not have the car with me at the time so it did not have anything to do with resetting codes, etc. At least not in my case.
This same thing happened to me with my 03 C2. The key light came on and stayed on and wouldn't open or close anything. I had to bring the car to the dealer in case they needed to reset the computer. Instead, it was just the battery. The service guy changed the battery and I was out of there in less than 15 minutes. The key has been fine ever since.
