My deal with the dealer was for them to buy me a disk for my area, but what arrived today was the 2 disk set (east/west) that I guess is for a new PCM II car.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Been looking awhile and just purchased a 02 C4 Cab with 4K miles. Yeah! Now my question: The car is equiped with PCM. What is the story on getting Nav maps for other parts of the country? The dealer had a set of disks mailed out to me, but they appear to be for PCM 3.0 and I get "error reading CD" when I insert them. I'll give Navteq a call, but wondered if anybody had any recent experience with this. Thanks.

POST 2Original post

I have the same car ('02 C4 cab) and had my car shipped out west. I had to buy the disk from Navtech for CA- $140!!! Where are you located? I have an extra disk #6 New England & Mid Atlantic.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I'm in Ga and I also have disk #6 that came with the car. My deal with the dealer was for them to buy me a disk for my area, but what arrived today was the 2 disk set (east/west) that I guess is for a new PCM II car. I just wasn't sure what the options were.

POST 4Original post

For our model ther are 7 different disks. You need disk # 7-AL, GA, FL, SC, NC. If yours are new and unopened, you might be able to negotiate with Navtech and swap your disks for what you need. They are at [phone removed] - navtech.com Dave

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks Dave. Does Navtech still update the maps for the PCM I systems, or are we stuck with the state of things as of a couple of years ago?

POST 6Original post

My understanding is that there is that Navtech does not intend to update the maps for PCM I due to memory constraints. I just purchased the disks for the Ohio region and there are a number of streets that aren't represented.

POST 7Original post

When you purschase a disk from them, they tell you that you are entitled to one free upgrade when the next set comes out. However, Bobw, that is a good questions - Will there ever be an update to PCM I systems? Porsch - If you talk to them about swapping disks, maybe you can ask and let us PCM I users know.
