Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I will give it some time before I adjust these settings again.

The front change from under the car and the rears from behind the seats under the carpet.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Even though the group buy was a not successful Gert was still good enough to help me out with a good priced PSS9 kit. The kit arrived last Wednesday and I had it installed today.
First impressions are as follows:
The ride is quite firm but not harsh
There is an extreme reduction in body roll around corners
Body feels considerably stiffer. Even though I drive a cab there are no extra squeaks from the stiffer setup. If anything the car has less squeaks now
You "feel" the road more now. Hard to put words to this but I know you understand what I mean.
Cornering is more precise. Point and shoot and it goes where you want it to go
Less body lean under braking and hard acceleration. The car seems more planted and solid under these conditions
These impressions were based from a wopping 30km drive. I am sure I will have more to say once I have more drive time. The car was set up with the following settings:
Camber: -1.0 Front and -1.4 Rear
Toe: Standard RoW 030
Lowering: Car is lowered to 25.5" all the way around
PSS9 Settings: 3 Front and 4 Rear
At the moment it will do. I am not sure if I will keep it this way. More kms under the belt will determine that.
AC,
I currently have the fronts dialed out to 3 and the rears to 4. I will give it some time before I adjust these settings again. Also getting into the rear is a slight pain in the butt on a cab
Hi Arthur,
I'm getting the PSS9 kit installed on my '03 C2. I noticed you have the settings at 3 and 4. Are you planning on tracking the car with those settings, or do they need to be stiffened from those settings?
Also, your ride height measurement. Where is that 25.5" measured from?
Thanks for your help.
David
David, I am not going to track the car at all. I wanted to start off stiff and work back to see what I liked. So far the 3/4 setup has been good. On some roads its a bit too much but nothing ridiculuous. I might be changing it to one up from that and testing it out soon. I have heard someone say that the are running a 5/5 or 5/6 setup and they love it.
The height is measured from the ground to the lip of the wheel arch.
Arthur, thanks for the help. Sorry for the dumb question, but should I assume that the higher the setting number (1-9), the stiffer the damping? I would read the directions, but I'm out of town for a week, and the shop is doing the work at home.
Also, thanks, stiles, the suspension is bone stock in that photo.
Cheers,
David
David,
Yes 1 is the stiffest setting possible. It all comes down to the roads you drive one. Apart from that you drive a coupe so the sqeaks are going to be less than a cab and will be able to put up with the stiffer settings.
Apart from than it isnt too bad to change later. It isnt a 5 minute process but you dont need to go into the shop to do it. The front change from under the car and the rears from behind the seats under the carpet.
Chucksta,
I got a local shop to do the install. All the guys that work at Weltmeister used to work at Porsche Centre Melbourne and PCM didn't have an issue with it at all. The labour charge was $1200 including the corner balance and wheel alignment not cheap but not expensive either. PCM wanted $900 just to lower the car with eibac springs.
I think the car has settled a little more since the photos. I also installed the side skirts. Will take some more shots and post them
