Then when that did little to fix the irritating squeak, I brought it back and we tightened the door latch all the way in towards the car.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I took the car to dealer and i got it back and i have doubts that they even opened the panel. What's in there that's causing this annoying vibration when base hits. It's only that door. Is it something i can do myself? i just don't want to yank the door panel. This is my first porsche i wanted to ask you folks for advice. Also, if i can fix it, please provide door panel removal instructions. I wonder what the car would sound like if i decide to put boom box in the car later, would the whole thing rattle? thx

POST 2Original post

At least yours is only with music with base. Mine was/is constant - other than on glass smooth highways, I have pretty much the same thing - a buzzing rattle noise coming from the passenger door panel. Odd thing is that if I lean over and lift the passenger door panel compartment lid, the rattle will go away for a few minutes, then come back. Close the lid, rattle goes away for a few minutes, then comes back. I can repeat this over and over. So I'm playing around right now with some WD40 and velvet sticky pads to see if I can figure out how opening/closing the compartment lid helps for a few minutes, and perhaps silence it forever.

POST 3Original post

I have a similar problem. Does it sound like the speaker is broken/blown when there is a lot of bass? When the bass comes on, there is a vibration or hum which comes from the passenger door panel. My dealer tried to fix the problem but left me with a door panel with broken fasteners so the panel is not even secure anymore. I also get an annoying rubbing/ticking noise from the passenger side of the dashboard when the top is down.

POST 4Original post

i also have a clicking noise coming from the passenger side when the top is down.. any ideas? i'm thinking it's the side air vent??

POST 5Original post

I had the vibration problem about a year ago. The dealer said it was a loose speaker, tightened it, and the problem never came back.

POST 6Original post

I had an annoying clicking and squeaking sound on the driver's side door, and the dealer fixed while I was standing there. First they did something to the window regulator or something when it was in for service claiming that would fix it. Then when that did little to fix the irritating squeak, I brought it back and we tightened the door latch all the way in towards the car. That reduced the problem but did not completely cure it. The we sprayed some greaseless lubricant or something similar that the dealer had on the door latch and mechanism, and it doesn't even make a peep. Now I just have a noticeable rattle that sounds like a piece of loose plastic under the windshield/ defrost ducts above the dashboard. If I could just figure out what that was from????

POST 7Original post

i had a buzz/rattle from the dash when the music hit a bass note. turned out to be a blown woofer (voice coil separated from the spider). still, the car has lots of other rattles from different sources...you learn to ignore it after a while, kinda like white noise.

POST 8Original post

I had the same problem and they have insulation that comes standard on the bose system..they installed it and my rattles were go..fre of charge

POST 9Original post

going with the theory that WD40 is the solution to damn near everything, and the corollary that it can't hurt, I sprayed WD40 liberallly on both joints of the passenger door compartment lid, aired out the car for a few hours to get rid of the WD40 smell, and went for a drive. No more buzzing rattle. How about that. WD40 rules.

POST 12Original post

I finally fixed a similar problem today. Had a very annoying high ptched rattle coming from the rear speaker area. It ended up being speaker wires that were touching the the inside surface of the rear quarter panels. I was able to get to it through the small plastic vent that goes from the door to the area behind the door.
