Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.
Discussions that contain suggestions
1
0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Suggestion
Mine is emerald green (at least when its clean), which I like because it is fairly unusual.
Leading evidence: 'Clean )' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Clean )' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

So I was in Palo Alto for two weeks.
Nothing to do at night on me tod. So I decided here was my chance to get away from the hold of rennlist and get a life.
So I counted Porkers
Here's what I saw over the two week period. These were all seen
driving within the Palo Alto area.
47 x Boxter
19 x 996 C2 mostly white!
4 x 996 C4
11 x 996 TT
7 x 996 TT Cab
1 x 996 GT3 (stunning speed yellow)
1 x 914 (orange) !
1 x 365 Cab (black) it may have been a copy but it was a good one.
17 x 911 various mostly white!
3 x 993 all cabs!
1 x 928 (absolutely gorgious siver model)
California: Land of sun, sea, chicks, mexican food and Porkers.
Highlight of the trip: My mate took me out in his white 1978 911 Targa Carrera. I want one!
Most frightening experience: watching two absolutely drop dead gorgious
chicks driving down University in an open top 996 TT Cab. Cruising at about
60 MPH.........but get this.....in second gear!!!!! I mean she didn't know about 3rd, 4th etc.
...or maybe they liked the sound of the engine?
I have to admit I've been guilty of downshifting just to hear the car accelerate. 60 MPH in sixth is practically lugging the engine, and the car sounds so sweet when you wind it up a bit (although 2nd is a bit excessive).
Anyone else care to admit it, or am I the only one?
Yes lots of Porsches, but the question to ask is how many of the cars are really owned by the banks. Most! Lots of people currently living beyond their means on borrowed money.
Yep...see the recent blurbs about how something like 40% of the people who finance their car owe more than what the car is worth? People are taking out 8 yr loans to get into a car they can't otherwise afford. Damn...8 years!?!? Some people don't live in the same house for that long, and that's longer than a lot of relationships!
I must admit it surprised me. That's why I mentioned it.
Seems to me white is the most predominant colour in the area for
911s, be it 996 or traditional. Also, I found it interesting that
there were 4 x as many 996 C2 as there were C4's.
Yes I know. You aint kidding.
When I was there it was like 90 degrees and its winter!
Everyone tells me that in SF it rains a lot. But I been there maybe 50 times
over the years and all I ever see is clear skies. The worst I have seen is a bad fog but even that cleared up. You guys are soooooo lucky!
So what colour is your porker Gnome? Is it white?
Cheers,
Berny
They are not most fakers lease their cars with no intention on keeping it. They never will own a car and they are not P-car loyalist. They just want to show off that they have a nice ride, most can't even drive well. It goes for the same thing with MB, BMW, Jags, ect...
I also think there are more silver Porsches than white in the Bay Area. Mine is emerald green (at least when its clean), which I like because it is fairly unusual. Of course, the other day I went to the local grocery store (Robert's), and there was a convertible 996 in the same color parked next to me when I came out :-(

I believe it. The dealers in the area are so sure of themselves that they don't take a lot of potential customers seriously. I went to the Sacramento dealer because I was tired of the attitude. It's not as bad as it was a couple of years ago, but buyers don't call all the shots, either.
It's raining today. My sincere apologies to everyone here in the Bay Area, it's clearly my fault because of my last post that it never rains. Guess I'm washing my car this weekend
Mine is Black, with chromed wheels. I'll post pics soon. In the meantime, TeflonJones avatar looks a lot like my car.
Scouser. I think whats happend is living in "the very gray uk" so long may have made you color blind and now you can't tell the difference between silver and white
nice post!
The bay area is a lot healthier than people think...look at the real estate market. Because of the higher wages, and people can't afford to buy, a lot of people spend their money on their cars.
Can't wait to get back...
