Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I'm running 19x11+63 with a 295/30 as mentioned, a full 1" taller of a tire than stock but it's not too much for the wheel well.
Leading evidence: 'Run 19x11+63' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). I do run a 15mm spacer in the front for offset....but nothing in the rear with no issues..

Hi all, I have a 1999 C2 running the factory 17 wheel setup right now.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi all, I have a 1999 C2 running the factory 17 wheel setup right now. Im looking at adding 19 wheels from a Cayman S. My concern is the fender clearance for the rear tire. The wheel and tire size combo is : 265/40/19, 10/19 47et. I have already entered it into a tire calculator and it seems like its telling me the fender gap will be 15mm. Has anyone run a similar set up?
You might be able to clear the fender by adding more rear negative camber.
Im more concerned about your rear tire making contact with the wheel well. Ive measured the wheel travel at full compression with 265/35/18 and I could barely fit a finger between the tire and the top of the wheel well. With a 40 aspect ratio and 19 inch wheels, youre bound to make contact if you bottom out your suspension.
Youll either need some really stiff springs (coilovers) and/or some really stiff bumpstops to prevent this from happening. (Bumpstops wear out over time due to age and repeated compression, best to not solely rely on them!). I wouldnt drive on these until youve measured and confirmed that you wont have an issue. Consider fitting shorter tires instead, like something with a 30 aspect ratio.
FWIW, I wouldn't. If you want bigger wheel sizes, go with 18s. Better handling without problems that you will undoubtedly have to solve for.
Not to mention there are plenty of wheels options and tire sizes in 18s as well.
You asked for it. This is what I have. The PO rolled the inside upper fender lip. He had it done in LA at a shop that has the tool to do it. These are the Carrera Sport 10 in wide w 42 mm. I think the Porsche 911 - 997 ones with the ET of 67 and width of 11.5 in would fit better. They would tuck in about 3/8 in more. I also put 7 mm spacers on the front. rear tires are 285 / 30 x 19's.
I'm running 997 19" wheels on my 01 996 without issue. Car isn't lowered. I do run a 15mm spacer in the front for offset....but nothing in the rear with no issues..
I have a 2001 coupe with 18" Porsche Sport Techno hollow spoke wheels. The rears are 11x18 with 63mm offset. Tires are 295/30x18 with no issues. Note that 996s were never offered with 19" wheels. To get the overall tire height the same as the originals, you'd probably have to get 25s, which I'm not sure you can find.
Not anymore, the 2020's have been a wild decade. My 245/35 and 295/30/19 combo of Advans cost about the same as a square 265/35/18 setup which was mindboggling.
Speaking of which,
@Craigwolly
19x10+47 should work but 265/40 is getting on too tall. I'm running 19x11+63 with a 295/30 as mentioned, a full 1" taller of a tire than stock but it's not too much for the wheel well. 265/40's a whole different animal.
Thanks everyone for the advice! I went with 19x8 ET57 235/35/19 on the front and 19x9.5 ET45 275/35/19 on the rear. Fitment is perfect and I had to use a 15mm spacer on the front to get it flush. Ride is so much better! Less reactive in the steering to bumps and just feels more planted through the turns. No rubbing so far. The front wheel is essentially the same size as the factory 17 that had a 50 aspect ratio.
