Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Suggestion
I would seriously consider Koni Special Actives for your use case.
Leading evidence: 'Use case' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Use case' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Good afternoon Everyone,
New member - first post. Big surprise, I need advice!
The suspension on my 00 996 C2 Cabrio is original and its finally time for a full refresh.
I have two quotes from a very reputable shop for $8,600 and $10,500 (
Bilstein v Ohlins). Ive spoken to the shop owner about this vehicle being a weekend vehicle with city driving only (<5k miles/yr).
I asked about M030 as an option but was told it would not come close in terms of value / money compared to the other options.
Im curious to get the opinions from the members who have completed full suspension refreshs with any of the above options.
Thanks to all!
- Chris
$8,600 for stock Bilsteins parts and labor and replacing all the mounts and rubber parts sounds about right, assuming the labor is over $150/hour. Nothing on this car is cheap and this is one of those things you will only do once on this car. If you can do it now, I wouldn't wait, although the Inertia Lab options looked pretty cool. I had not known of that option. Thanks Chris.

For this situation I would say the Ohlins is a solid choice component wise. I tend to find it popular to reduce rear spring rates and revalve.
I completely agree and stay away from coilovers unless you want a rough ride. Moving toward the Koni's myself which I have on my Boxster and they ride nice.
I went from a M030 to a Ohlins R&T and yes its firm, I wouldnt say its rough.
The Koni set up is solid and the price of the service seems reasonable.
I have a 2000 C2 Cab as well and those prices are in the ballpark for a refresh. I have the Bllstein B6 shocks (sport) rather than the original B4 (comfort). I don't track my car. If I had it to do over again I'd go back to the B4s as the ride is significantly stiffer now.
