Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Please look closely at the tyre threads.. Ok I know I bought a new right tyre recently so there should be a difference in thread wear.. But why is the thread wear not even on the left tyre itself?? The pressure has always been not more than 43.5PSI hot and 41PSI cold on both tyres. Solve the riddle, Batman.. Waz 996C299

POST 2Original post

All i know is that tire pressure on specific cars is dependent on what the manufacturer of the car recommends for optimal tire usage. Should be in owners manual or a placard attached to the car. Other than that...thats just odd, not over inflation?

POST 3Original post

Are running aggressive alignment settings? When was your last alignment? It is difficult to tell from just the photo but it appears the left tire is just worn out, "normaly". Depending on your alignment settings the inside 1/3 of the tire is going to wear significantly more than the outside portion. I appears that this may be the case with your left rear tire. However, if in person it it is just middle portion of the tire then I would say that some point the tire has been over inflated. It is difficult to tell the extent of the very inside tread wear from the photo. How many miles are on the left rear?

POST 4Original post

Waz... 1. Nice plates! 2. Left rear seems to show the wear pattern of overinflation despite your mention of normal pressures. Is this a recurring pattern? You may wish to have your alignment checked. 3. Just curious, but how often do you have to wash that Black Beauty out there in Dubai? Cheers!

POST 5Original post

Waz - Do you park your car in the sun in such a way that the left side gets direct sun and the right does not? If you routinely drove it after parking it with the sun heating the left tires for several hours, it might explain the difference in tire wear between right and left (because of different tire pressure). I know that my tire pressure goes up a couple pounds on the side with direct sun exposure and I don't have nearly the solar exposure that you do. Tim

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Well i beleive the first reason is that the right one is a newer one.. though at the time of change, the left one was still in a very good shape.. Otherwise, I am considering that in Sharjah *check my plates* we have way too many round-about interstections which i often take at quite a high speed.. Probably the left tyre is slipping more since it has less weight on it doing left turns.. Just a thought! waz

POST 7Original post

The only thing that I know of that can cause excesive wear only in the middle is over-inflation

POST 8Original post

Waz, I think your rears are over inflated, 41 PSI cold is kinda high, even tho the manual recommends higher. Alot of people run 38 in the rear.
