Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I recall years ago some car owners using plastic mesh/woven seat covers (seat and back) that provided some air gap between one and the seat proper.

My sister uses those sheepskin covers in her Infiniti that seem to work even in the summer to keep one cool.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hey guys,
I've had my 996 for a couple years now, absolutely loving it. The one little thing that's still bothering me is the seats. On longer drives, I'll get out of the car and my lower back and rear is drenched in sweat. I thought the seat heaters might have stuck on so I removed the fuse for the heaters, but still have the same issue. My friend drove the car and said the same thing.
It's a black on black targa, so I thought that might have something to do with it, too. The seats just seem to hold in heat for some reason. Anyone else having this issue? Thoughts on fixes? Recommendations for aftermarket seats that aren't too expensive?
Thanks!
Chris
We have leather seats and they will do that to some degree. My Cayenne is also that way and so did my Escape, but the BMW is worse. All are black leather seats and I just chalk it up to being leather.
Same experience with my cars. Often on even a mild day after spending some time in the car when I get out my shirt back is damp.
Maybe there is a seat cover of some kind that one could use? I recall years ago some car owners using plastic mesh/woven seat covers (seat and back) that provided some air gap between one and the seat proper.

I'd rather live with the damp shirt.
I have seat cooling feature on my Macan and I love it.
That said, you should all be thankful for leather seats vs leatherette (vinyl) which is standard on most BMWs. I had vinyl seats on one of my former BMWs and summers were gruesome. Leather at least breathes a bit better but cloth is always best in my opinion.
That's one of the great things about Savanna beige, it's much cooler. In the South it's doesn't pay to have a black interior. Way to hot!

Do search for "ventilated seat cover" a bunch of stuff comes up...many of which are the wood bead types of things...there are also mesh ones...Savanna Beige here...not too hot
I have full leather Savanna Beige interior in my 02 Cab and it gets hot. My wife will leave a towel covering the seat when we leave the top down. My wife's Lexus has heated/cooled seats which is really nice when you don't want a sweaty back.
That appears to already be a ventilated seat where they are upgrading the fans.
I guess if you have perforated seat centers it might be possible. I've never seen the internals of a ventilated seat though so I have no idea what all might be involved...
