hiya, i have durametric software basic version 3 but it did not include cabriolet models. (i have 99 carrera tip) so i downloaded version 5 (as 6 needs a different cable) but now not communicating with the car. i removed old software first and got new drivers for wire but no luck. any ideas? also will the software open clam shell (rear deck) into service position as its not working on switch or key. i didnt want to use allen key as didnt wonna lose reference points. thanks.

One idea... My durametric version 5 is very choosy about which USB port I use on my laptop. It does not like the newer USBv3.0, but works fine with the older style USB ports on the same computer. The software will not open the clamshell. If the dash switch and/or key are not working, you have a different issue.

What is your OS by chance? I know the older drivers support the older OS systems but the newest drivers aren't compatible with older OS's, mainly the usb communication protocol portion. I had this issue for a BMW scanner before.
