Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

12 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I recently completed a 4800 mile road trip in my 02 4S. Day one was Washington DC to Knoxville, out US 129 (the tail of the dragon), Cherohala Skyway and on to Chattanooga. Day two was to New Orleans. Day three to Austin, Texas. Day four on to San Antonio and some driving in the hill country. Day five up the new 85 mph speed limit Texas State Highway 130 and on to DFW. Day six was to Tulsa. Day Seven to Kansas to a family wedding. Day Eight to Grand Island Nebraska Day Nine to Kansas City Days 11 and 12 back to DC via Louisville Kentucky. The car was magnificent. It used a quart and a half of oil for the entire trip. For 4800 miles, not bad. I drove the living hell out of that car and it never did anything but want to go more and go faster. I would highly recommend getting a Waze Ap for your phone. Out west it got a bit dicey as there are fewer users. But on the way to Knoxville, I drove between 100 and 115 the entire way slowing only for speed traps, of which there are many in Virginia, and knew where every cop was before he ever saw me. A Waze and a Valentine 1 radar detector and you are pretty much immune from speed enforcement. Really if you are in a heavily trafficked area, you don't need the detector. Waze works great. I hit a fair amount of rain. That was not a problem for the car with its AWD. The only issue is the car sits low and you can get drenched and lose your visibility from trucks. But no amount of rain seemed to bother the cars handling or breaking. As a grand tourer, I can't say enough about it. I even managed to bring an entire case of wine in the frunk back from Hill Country. If you haven't taken your car out for a big road trip, do so. You will love it.

Kaylan, Who takes pictures when they are driving?

POST 4Original post

^^ I was just kidding! But, I do pull over and take pics of the car and the scenery if it was nice. Glad you had a nice trip!

POST 5Original post

Waze is great, but the social reporting features can lag a bit. The radar detector plus Waze has been great for me.

John - Would love to see some pics from your stop here at the Kansas City Automotive Museum! Remember, 996 drivers always get in free - just tell the front desk you are a Rennlister and point out your 996 in the parking lot. And be sure to tell the staff to call upstairs so I can come down from my law office on the second floor of the museum to say hello. Anyone else coming through Kansas City, we would love to see you here. We are right off the highway at 119th Street & I-35 in Olathe, Kansas.

POST 8Original post

Wow, that was quite a trip for you and your Porsche. I don't drive that many miles in a year with mine.

POST 9Original post

Good to see others doing long distance as well. I drove from Ft Myers, FL to Chicago. Then I drove to Baltimore, and then in august I'll drive back down to Ft Myers again. 3k miles plus a few hundred for in between driving.

POST 10 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

KCattorney, I missed that. Damn. I will be sure to go the next time I am out.
