Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I doubt I'll ever blow my money on a new one again as used ones will be such a bargain!!

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

i'm not surprised. with the economy being in a recession for a couple of years now, porsches aren't exactly in high demand like they were during the tech boom. if you were selling privately i don't think you'd get more than 55K for it, and it would probably take a while to find a buyer. figure in the dealer costs associated with selling it, plus their profit, and 45K doesn't sound all that crazy.
Trade in KBB is 55k for a 01 C4 cab unless you have high mileage and/or bad history. You should be able to get mid 50's for that car. Never trade into a dealer anyway. Also the model change may affect you - don't wait til 997's come out if you are pressed to sell - then you're looking at 2 bodystyle changes - you'll see an even bigger hit then.
Well, I'm still searching for my dream car. But in chicago 99-00 911 convertibles sticker at 49k$ at non porsche dealers, and I suspect they would sell for 3000-5000$ below that. At a porsche delaer add 5000$ to the asking price, though I wouldnt pay it.
Most of these cars have 25-35k miles on them...
That sucks, Paul....and it won't get any better because new Porsche prices won't come down. In fact with the dollar dropping in "value" to other currencies, PAG might even raise prices.
I just sold my '00 c4 cab this weekend for 50K.
I actually had a dealer state he'd give me 53 is I traded for another car on his lot.
Of course he didn't have anything I was interested in.
But hang in there, you should be able to do better since yours is an '01.
I had really low miles..16k for a 4 year old car isn't bad, plus it was optioned to the max, including rg-5's and an Aero kit.
Good luck...
Phattey...
kbb and nada prices are kind of high for the current market. the prices they show are averages for all selling prices people have submitted to them, including when prices on 996s were better a few years ago. they keep dropping every time you check those websites since the selling prices are lower now so it's dropping the averages...
I just drove in the first snowfall and had a ball! I have a lease beater loan and can turn the car in July 06 so I 'll let them take the hit!! I doubt I'll ever blow my money on a new one again as used ones will be such a bargain!!
