Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I don’t believe Porsche ever changed spring rates for what was initially engineered and released for each 996 version.

Also, thru out the years of 996 production as tire sizes changed substantially, would also assume spring rates would also change to accommodate a larger/heavier tire /wheel.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

According to my research, there are 4:
1. Standard Springs aka "Touring Suspension"
2. Sport Springs M030 "Sport Suspension"
3. Rest of World (RoW) M030, lower and stiffer than the North American market M030 springs
4. X74 package, lower and stiffer than all
Is that correct?
Thats a good start for a C2...
Would assume a similar list for the C4, & another for C4s would be in order.
Also, thru out the years of 996 production as tire sizes changed substantially, would also assume spring rates would also change to accommodate a larger/heavier tire /wheel.
To find all these factory changes in spring rates might be difficult by looking at part # lists. Many times, as cars/parts become old/obsolete, #'s get superseded and outdated....
Why are you changing out your springs...?
I want to go a little lower, but not too low. H&R is going to be too low for me I think. And I like OEM parts so I want to keep it OEM+. I have a 2000 C4.
Right and there are also different springs for Auto vs Manual. I guess Im talking about how many different springs for any one specc'd car, in my case a coupe manual AWD, non-S. And mainly talking about ride heights. Just trying to figure out what OEM options I have for my car.
I don’t believe Porsche ever changed spring rates for what was initially engineered and released for each 996 version. OE paint dots on the springs tell the tale.
Skip probably knows for sure.
I went with RoW M030 and I've been very happy. One of the things I really like about the 911 is its practicality; the RoW M030 springs bring the front end down enough to give the car a decent rake, but not so far as to make it difficult to maneuver. I can't compare ride quality because my suspension was old and floaty before I switched, but it is not harsh with those springs and Koni Sport shocks. Koni Actives would give you more compliance.
If you are talking about specific options OEM for your car, this should be it:
1. US Standard Springs aka "Touring Suspension"
2. US Sport Springs M030 "Sport Suspension" (
same ride height
)
3. ROW Standard springs (-1cm vs US)
4. ROW M030 Springs (-2cm vs US)
5. X74 springs
