Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

My original thinking was to use a glove box and mount an EQ inside it so that it was hidden from view and looked stock.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

It it possible to add a factory glovebox to a 1999 996? When I say possible I mean without replacing the entire dash assembly.

POST 2Original post

No. You have to replace the dash and the medal behind the dash if I am correct.

POST 3Original post

But why? Betweeen center console, door bins and space under the seat you have lots of space.

POST 4Original post

yes, you do have space, but the dash is a one piece unit that bolts onto metal underneath it and that metal isn't meant to take one of the newer 996 dashes with a glovebox. why would you want the glovebox anyway? i could think of much better ways to spend your money!

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

My original thinking was to use a glove box and mount an EQ inside it so that it was hidden from view and looked stock. As I feared, it is a big pain in the butt. No big deal. I agree Teflon, first on the list of mods is an Aero tail.
