Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Could have been a little less cause this price included an oil change which I thought would be a good idea to do before storing for the winter.
Leading evidence: 'Replace which i thought would be a good idea' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Replace which i thought would be a good idea' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I am still not sure of buying the side skirts or not, but they look nice.
I was on the fence about side skirts also, but I'm glad in the end I purchased them. I really think they make the car look a little better.
I have a GT3 bumper just sitting in the garage waiting to be painted and installed. Don;t know when I'm going to do that since it's the rainy season now.
Hmmm....that looks familiar!
It really does complete the look of the car. I'm still surprised that it cost less to do than if we had ordered the Flared Rockers from factory.
I'll email you the pics I took when we finished with it.
The total cost was about $2000.00 CDN ($1.00 US=0.75 CDN). Could have been a little less cause this price included an oil change which I thought would be a good idea to do before storing for the winter. I also had the body shop apply the 3M coating to the ends. I didn't see this on the invoice so they more than likely threw it in with the package. I am very impressed with the fit of the and the process involved to install them. My understanding is that they first painted them, then did a trial installation, removed them and repainted followed by the final installation. The nice thing is that the whole process was seemlessly arranged by my sales guy at the dealer. After getting the quotes, I simply dropped off the car and they took it from there. When the car came back (on time), the invoice was exactly as discussed with no B.S.. Cheers to Dan at Norden in Edmonton.
As far as the fixed wing, I'm still not convinced. I actually like the one it comes with. The one thing that I am asked most about my my car is " is this the car that has the spoiler that comes up and down ???" Sounds silly, but I also think it's cool.
One thing I may be talked into is the GT3 front bumber......we'll see in the spring.
porsche says that you should never retrofit the GT3 front bumper without a rear spoiler too because the increase in downforce on the front axle (about 50 pounds) will upset the balance of the car. i don't know what this really means to the behavior of the car, but i'm going to find out because i'm having a front chin spoiler installed that adds about 50 pounds of downforce, but i'm not having any sort of rear spoiler put on at the same time.
i think this applies to any mod that adds downforce, i.e. don't add a rear spoiler without adding a chin spoiler too unless you're building a track car and you know how you want the additional downforce applied.
I would think that the upsetting of the car's balance would make a difference on a car that was being used at high speeds quite often, like on a track car, but would it really make a difference on a car that isn't being tracked?
I would also think that it wouldn't be too bad to add some downforce to the front end of the C2. It would make it a little harder to unload the front end, though it might take away from the nimble feeling.
well, it depends on how fast you drive it on public highways!
if i was in germany driving on the autobahn all the time i probably would put on both the front and rear spoilers. since i'm just having the front spoiler put on my C4, i guess i'm going to find out what it does!
i'll report back...
You'll likely see some difference in handling, but if you think your front end could benifit from some added downforce, then it might be a nice modification..
I think the unbalanced effect had/has a very big effect on older (usually less stiff to start with) cars like the 911SC where an owner puts on a giant whale tail (purely for the visual effect) and nothing in the front. In these cases, you can see the absurd lack of balance as the guy surfs past you even at speeds as low as 60MPH...
IMHO might not be such a bad thing... especially given that Porsche themselves added some on the fronts of +2002's, yet the back remained relatively unchanged.
Yep. I just was thinking about the most common thoughts I've had on mountain roads or windy roads: Its relatively easy to unload the front end of the C2 (especially). Therefore 50 lbs. more downforce on the front end wouldn't be very much, and might make for a bit more "grippy" handling at least in the front. I think the rear end of the car already has enough downforce for me at least at sane speeds.
