Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Leading evidence: 'Use ford fluid' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Replace about 3-4 times' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Over the spring through fall season I change about 3-4 times.

Suggestion
If you are planning on changing the fluid even more frequently, go to any Ford dealer and buy Ford HD (Heavy Duty), it's usually around $5 per, and the dry boiling point is as good as any (wet is not impressive, but who cares).

Hi, since I had problems with my brakes on my 964, I switched to using Merceds Benz brake fluid.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

no and the super blue isn't all that. You can readily get motul 600 at most motorcylce stores. it is 2x the price of super blue but the wet and dry boiling points are second only to srf and you won't have to change it out as much reportedly. Go down to a honda dealer or call around and you'll find it.
Just my $.02. Focus on good cost/performance, Jake. Unless you're actually racing at Le Mans, don't waste your money on Castrol SRF, the gold standard (but somewhere around ~$60!). If you're going to change your fluid 2-3 times a year, or more frequently, "wet" boiling point isn't that important, because it'll never get that much moisture (in a 996 braking system). Even if you change your brake fluid only once a year, I wouldn't worry too much about it.
Also, any good DOT 4 fluid will be WAY MORE than sufficient for street use. There is no way, on the STREET, will you be able to boil DOT 4 fluid in a 996.
I buy my ATE Super Blue and Gold 2000 by the case, and it works out to less than $10 per, if you shop around. They are the SAME fluid, except different colors. I alternate between the two, so that flushing the fluid is easier - you notice the color change.

Hi, since I had problems with my brakes on my 964, I switched to using Merceds Benz brake fluid. Its Singapore $7.50, from a OEM parts distributor, which works out to US$4.20+- for a 0.75litre tin. As I track and do a lot of long distance driving, i have to change my pads every 6 months or so, and I flush the system each time. no problems so far.
I also buy 2 cartons (20 tins) each time.
To Get the Super Blue go to Mesa Perfomance Parts along the 55 in Costa Mesa... $11 or so a can.

the stock fluid isn't enough for canyon racing or street driving for me. I boiled it the first week, and it was brand new fluid. I then did super blue and it was fine on the street but boiled at the track. I liked the super blue just fine but I drive my car too hard to use it.
Since I change a lot, I use the Ford fluid. It's what the NASCAR guys use and it doesn't "wear out" at DEs. It has a very high dry boiling point but a very low cost. Over the spring through fall season I change about 3-4 times. I did it on the M5, too. Never had any problems.
Over the winter I put ATE Gold in. That eliminates the possibility of moisture pickup.
