Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I've had a change in circumstances and will find myself having to drive over the Sierra Nevadas several times each month during the winter. I've owned a few 996 C2s which I use as daily drivers, and I'm thinking about moving to a C4S or a Cayenne. I would prefer a Carrera as I don't want to give up the handling. My thought was to outfit the C4S with snow tires and wheels in the winter months, and move back to the regular wheels and tires in spring summer and fall. Does anyone have any thoughts on this? Thanks! Craig

POST 3Original post

put the snows on the c4s-you'll be fine. i have driven various awd porsches in winter-as long as you have the winter tires on, it works great.

POST 4Original post

Put on some winter tires, keep out of the deep stuff, and have fun

POST 5Original post

absolutely, a C4 with winter tires handles like a snow cat in the snow. well, maybe not quite, but pretty darn awesome!

POST 6Original post

Same experience here with my Turbo: put a set of good wintr tires on, and off you go! --Pierre
