Just brought home my new 2003 Targa, midnight blue metallic. It has been 15 years since my last Porsche (new 1983 SC coupe). It is good to be back.
Any suggestions for "must have" items?
Any suggestions on covers, cleaning, buffing? Garage most of the time but I'll drive it has a second car when weather is good. Already has circular swirls in the trunk lid from the dealer detail. Looking for good cleaning products and tips.

Not sure what options you have, or how stock you want it to look...there are body kits (if you don't already have)...
There are superchargers, PSE exhaust, row m030 suspension or pss9 suspension...
I have the tequip silver cover...works well...depending on the wheels you have, you might give them a wax, so that brake dust will wipe off easier in the future. Cleaning products....griots gargage...

Congratulations, and welcome back into "the family". Here's a list of care care tips that I have learned from various members of the board. I have found Rennlist to be an invaluable resource.
1. Never wash your car in an automated car wash. Even soft cloth car washes will scratch the paint. Especially a dark color like yours. Also, if you have 18" wheels there's a good chance that they'll get scratched by the guide rail.
2. Use a microfiber mitt and towels to wash and dry the car. Again, no scratches. Cotton scratches!
3. Get yourself a good wheel cleaning brush.
4. Wax, everyone's got a different opinion, I won't go there.
5. Get a paint protectant film on the front of your car. My next mod.
6. Get BOTH California Dusters, interior and exterior. Just wipe and go. If you have a garage you're good, no need for a cover in my opinion.
Show is lots of pictures, can't get enough. Especially a Targa, don't see them that often. Don't disappoint us on the pictures.

congrats. once driven a porsche you will always want a porsche.
msut have's: PSE, ROW030 or PSS9's, no need to buff new paint, just wash and wax. prouducts: griots, P21S, zaino are all good. zymol is you like the smell.
bumper plug's product also a must.
gerts had some very very nice car covers.
