My car is in service for what could be a significant repair, yet I'm hoping the service guys are going to make me proud.

I have an aftermarket warranty from Primus Care that I haven't had to use yet.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I have an aftermarket warranty from Primus Care that I haven't had to use yet. I paid quite a lot for it, and have always wondered if they would pay when the time came.
Turns out my idle control sensor/relay thingy went bad on me. Bev. Hills Porsche diagnosed and quoted $495 for it. They called Primus Care, and had it approved immediately. Cost to me: $100 for the deductible. Fixed in one hour.
Now, that doesn't mean that I'll get an RMS covered if it goes, or anything else that pricey for that matter. But at least my first experience was positive, and actually paid back 10% of the cost of the warranty already.
Hopefully I'll never need another item covered. But if I do, I'm hoping that their speedy response is the norm and not a fluke...
That's some good news, which this board needed. I guess I should rephrase that...it's good news I needed.
My overall confidence level in Porsche/Quality and the service experience is beginning to get rattled a little.
My car is in service for what could be a significant repair, yet I'm hoping the service guys are going to make me proud. I have 2 months of factory warranty left.
We'll see...
Phattey...
I talked to the local Porsche dealer the other day and they offered a 4 year 50K extened bumper to bumper warranty for 4000 bucks. It is through EasyCare which is a part of Ford Motor Company. I decided to purchase a warrantydirect.com warranty becasue they offered 6 years same miles for less money. Today is inspection so hopefully I pass. If not, see ya later 996.

Chitownbob....are you going through inspection 'cause you're out of warranty now?
I'm about to puchase an extension from WarranyDirect where there's no inspection...I guess cause I'm still in factory warranty for 2 months...
Yeah,
Im out of warranty so I guess the inspection is mandatory. Actually, Im glad they will be inspecting the car. That way I know if a major problem exists rigt now since I relied on the Dealership who sold me the car for the PPI. It is still under warranty from teh dealrhsip i purchased it from though..

Easy Care is managed by the same company as Primus Care, which is what I have. It was close to $4k (which is silly), but if I should have a mojor problem I'll feel pretty good about having it. Also, it is tranferrable if I should sell the car, which should add some resale value to the deal...
