Hi all, I have a 2000 Carrera 4 with 57k miles. I had a Bilstein B4 system put in 18 months ago/at 54k miles. Today, another shop gave me this quote. Can anyone weight in on if I�m getting hosed or if this is reasonable? I do not know this shop well. Assuming it is all necessary thank you During inspection found front lower control arm bushings tearing/cracking. Recommend replacement $2,875.00 (part: $1,050) $250x6 labor During inspection found front axle boots torn/leaking, recommend replacement of front inner and oute $1,987.50 (part: $480) $250x6 labor During insp found rear and upper lower control arm bushings tearing/cracking. Recommend replacement $3,480.00 (part: $1,050 lower; $430 upper) $250x8 labor

Sounds like highway robbery to me. A pair of lower control arms from the dealership are not $1050. Bushings can be replaced for cheap.

Run dont walk.....as fast as u can from that shop. Lower control arms take less then 30 minutes to swap out and it will.need a quick alignment. Also not sure what part of the country u r in but $250/hr is about $100 more then out local shop rates. Edit... even if u wanted to go with Porsche parts the lca arm is only $356. The aftermarket part is about half that and perfectly fine.
