Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

2 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Recently my water pump died, and upon removal I've found the 6 plastic impellor blades are broken off. There were only very small bits of plastic in the coolant that has come out at this point. Not enough to account for the majority of the blades. None in the thermostat housing either. It is my understanding that my best bet is to flush the coolant backwards to hopefully dislodge or locate any pieces that are in my system. After searching for hours I cannot find any clear instruction on how to blow out the pathway these bits may have travelled down. Does anyone have any experience with this or have any suggestions on what my next course of action should be?

POST 2Original post

This is Jack Raby's response to this question posted on Facebook (without his consent): The only time to use a metal impeller is never. When the bearings fail the metal impeller becomes a milling machine for the block. That said, remove the 2 bolt plate at the bottom bellhousing side of bank 2 now, before any flushing. Most of the pieces will be here. Also remove the thermostat housing. I have 25 years of direct experience with this failure and saved dozens of these post WP failure. I also lost the battle with many along the way. -R&c[0]=AT0ISE8wstY4w_G7O6xvBwEf7b6kYtI7KReV4sOVAKNJda6v53HhCrso6H-rd14-8hN-E25J6DZqPGPJ3Ovw28Hk2Jko5aR0X-fAB5iHFF1mJKf23eYgX3XsJY_MAvVe89sjDYIJ18JL7sRT55T8xcjadXSVVXRNsykCYRA6-XPcrQe25xQGnauQsJhfG9P9IPHGszY]flat6innovations.com
