I've been told the vacuums are not a good way to go. With the types of synth oil that we're using under regular road driving, we change the oil to get rid of dirt and metal fillings, not to replace the oil. IMO, the vacuum won't pull the crude out of the bottom as effectively as a bottom draining will do. But I might consider doing the vacuum thing every other oilchange through in order to avoid a dealership visit.
